I feel like topic posting could be a committee thing; various people have been able to cover it from Discord in the past and any one person is probably hesitant to say they can be on standby for a period of ~90 days. In which case, I could be part of that group as I'm pretty active on Discord. I do still have those spreadsheet updates I sent to you around the new year which should help with getting the daily posts set up!

Regarding the second chances, overall I think it's a better way for every song to get a fair shot than just plain byes. I'm not really concerned with whether it's an advantage to lose in the first two rounds vs. making it out, just that it feels like we're pushing the letdown of getting seeded against a strong opponent to one of getting drawn against the best of the second-chancers. Basically, you can get saved from losing early to a top-tier entrant, but you become the very thing you got saved from for some poor song in another division.

Testing something...interesting, apparently you can copy-paste bolded/italicized now, but you can't use [bold] tags.

1. Go to My Settings
2. Go to Advanced
3. Under Advanced Message Board Settings, it should say HTML (WYSIWYG)
4. Click and switch to Plain Text (Classic)
5. Click Update Your Settings at the bottom

I know you weren't necessarily complaining, but if you prefer how things were, that is how you can change it.

I know at least one person has steadfastly proclaimed they wanted an auto-include for the side bracket, but does anyone have any other thoughts? ToC-lite? Snubs? Let me surprise you?

Trying to get my ducks in a row ahead of time. I just wrote what I intend to be the opening text, and I set up the skeleton of the spreadsheet, but anything else that still needs to be sorted out is on my to-do list. Friday's my one true day off.

I would've sent something last-minute; it's hard to decide because I've played most of my songs in recent guessing games and don't want to repeat them so soon!!!

Despite the lack of discussion in here, I've been getting myself extremely hyped for this VGMC preparing my nominations and going through the VGMC13 and VGMC12 archives. The Discord has also had a couple VGMC nom listening sessions the last two weeks, with cako hosting another tonight. I actually dropped by the board in the middle of VGMC12 noms and got three songs in, but left before voting started and didn't come back until VGMC13. I like how Janus sneakily dropped Fateful Confrontation 5 minutes 33 seconds before the deadline, where it immediately got enough supports to make the minimum cutoff and would go on to reach round 3.

Also, in your OP the -- (completely remove support from a double) somehow got turned into a long dash: (completely remove support from a double).

Anyway as for volunteer stuff I offered to help with the alternate system for deciding the last tier of songs getting into the contest and I still intend to do so if it is to be accepted. Though maybe this wasn't listed in the volunteer post because it wasn't a role you were specifically looking for and was more something unique I thought up.

Also for what it's worth I could also maybe sometimes help out with vote counting again like I did last year

I have two questions:

1._Is the contest going to be moved to March 19th to match the site-wide contest delay?
2._Would it be seen as too uncool from my behalf if I procrastinated my song pick as well?

I guess no side bracket for a 192-song bracket is fine, since we also have this chance at exposure. I just thought it was amazing having whatever 2 songs I liked for exposure compete with another 2 songs likely with the same intention. That way people not only have to listen to it, but also analyze it and evaluate it. Extra joy points are added when it's a song known only by you, but then it turns out to be a hit there Idk, it was just pretty fun.

P0 -- thanks. I wrote that in Word, which has some auto changes like double hyphen to dash.
GBA -- I left a provision in the rules that there might be intervention to enable specific bubble songs in before randomization. I don't especially relish the notion of trying to analyze and determine who has how many songs in the bracket or whatever at the exact minute nominations close and people are nipping at me for the bracket list, so I would definitely appreciate whatever support you can lend there. Especially since this is your bugaboo, so I'd like to see how you handle it.
Advo -- no. It's already been delayed once. Besides, the board is going to explode (at least a little bit) when the contest goes live. I'd rather have nominations closed or closing by that time. I have zero problem with the contest running alongside VGMC, but it's nice not having to worry much about bumping the topic.

I keep forgetting to say... I'd be willing to help with MC's compatibility sheets if Mycro ends up not doing it, so count me in as a backup there.

Oh, yeah, and will there be limitations on the first day of nominations? I seem to recall last contest users were limited to five nominations on day one?
