It was only a rental anyway so I moved on. I do remember I got to the Pirates but I didn't really understand equipping items so I died there. I must have been like five or six. Years later a schoolyard Chum told me about a game called Mystic Quest, it was very intriguing and one day he let me borrow it. I feel like this game gets a bad rap nowadays, and I don't know why. It's a beginner RPG. Nothing more nothing less. It does what it set out to do. It's like calling Elmo's ABC too easy or something. I digress, but anyways I enjoyed it. It introduced me to RPGs properly. Instead of accidentally running into it like I did. Then one day me and my little brother rented Super Mario RPG thinking it was a regular Mario game and I remember thinking oh wait I have experience with this kind of game now and we made the most of it. It was good times . As with everyone I also got into the Pokemon craze. But I eventually discovered emulation. I played Chrono Trigger and the rest is history. I discovered others games like Tales of Phantasia, the other final fantasies Etc. I know Pokemon is an RPG but most people don't consider it that for some reason. I sorta don't in my head either. Not counting Pokemon, the first RPG ever bought was Final Fantasy 7. So it's kind of crazy, I eventually covered all of the options in the poll, even the one not in the poll, as all part of my beginner process of getting into RPGs --- pUnny at his phone. What I considered as my 1st true RPG experience was playingThe Legend of Dragoon on the PS1 which I will never forget.
