I generally save up about $5,000 and just simply buy a used car.

Then drive it for like maybe 5 or 6 years or until it blows up.

Longest one I had was my 1994 Explorer and it lasted me from 2000 to 2009.

$400 is the sweet spot for an above-base trim SUV.

Any higher and you're into luxury and people that laugh when you ask for a zero-down lease.

That makes no sense. A finance company isnt going to do a 0%apr loan unless you pay all of the interest up front. The interest is how they make money. You might get a 0.9% apr or a 0.5% apr, but you aren't going to find flat 0 not matter your credit.

Mine is $469. It's a little steep, but it was a new model, and my credit wasn't great at the time, so it's better than it could have been.

When I get my BSW or MSW and a decent full time job? Probably around $300 to $400. I do not need to anytime soon though; I like both of my vehicles right now. There is only one 'new' vehicle I want but I don't what to buy a new one since it is a first year model.

How does a Tesla not depreciate? They should depreciate faster since they are so 'high end' with a limited life on the battery.

That said, there is a point where depreciation hits hardest - normally the first few years. I'd never buy a brand new model; I'd wait a few years at minimum (for example, buying a 2015 now verse a 2020).
