It's a hit or miss. Miss for most. I powered through it for Foo Fighters though. Plus it was refreshing coming out of Vento Aureo where you had, imo, one of the most boring MCs out of the entire cast. Jolyne is fun. Reminds me a lot of 4 where the story's momentum didn't really kick in until the later half

Stone Ocean is definitely better than Stardust Crusaders, Diamond Is Unbreakable and Golden Wind. It's not often you see a female lead consistently kick ass and receive character development in a Shonen.

A lot of it is low point BS that Araki came up with on the can, and it gets a bad rep as a result.

It's still better than like upwards of 90% of the rest of manga/anime, and it still has some really solid Stand concepts and fights.

To be honest, it's impossible to properly size it up until it gets animated at this point. People used to talk **** about Golden Wind, which is one of the most action packed and exciting installments. Now that it has proper translation, a soundtrack, and people have stopped pretending like Diavolo's power is more confusing than it really is, people like it.

Stone Ocean is bound to have a killer original soundtrack and a lot of the contentions people have from speed reading the manga to get to SBR will go away once we have a cohesive translation. (The scans are fine, but some of the Stand concepts are so abstract that it's hard to get everything.)

It always bugs me that the first, and so far only, girl JoJo was the only one who flat out lost in their final battle. I know the reason she lost is that so Araki could let her have her happy ending but still, he did her kind of dirty.

You know, I was going to ignore his dumbass response just like I ignored the guy that insulted Golden Wind, but did either of you two watch the first part of Jo Jo's?

Neither one of you are right, about anything you're saying.

Araki pretty much half the time doesn't even believe in main characters. Hayato had as much to do with Kira's demise as Josuke.

The whole theme of his story telling model is that there is no "main character" of life. We're all in the world together, and the main protagonists only overcome the villains by acting together. EVERY significant battle since BT reflects this.

Jonathan's final fight was a draw; he dies, but traps Dio with him for 100 years. Joseph flatout beat Kars; doesn't matter what Kars did when Joseph literally sent his ass to space for all eternity. Asspulls are basic Shonen.

OK, to answer your original question, no, you are wrong. Maybe watch the first 8 episodes of the series that's easily available on Netflix before you try to desperately squeeze your way into a conversation about a show you don't know anything about.

And he did it as a ****ing head on Jonathan's honeymoon no less.

Like, people can BS all they want about Jonathan killing Dio and marrying Erina. Dio got better and totally humiliated him. He got killed by a vampiric head that stole his body. That is not a win.

Retcons are irrelevant; in the original story written in Part 1, Jonathan died but trapped Dio with him and that was that. That's a draw; it doesn't matter how Part 3 retconned it.

As for Kars, him becoming immortal doesn't mean jack when Joseph still sent him to space for eternity. Kars even regretted his immortality and shut his brain completely off. That's a total victory for Joseph.

The same can be said about Pucci and that's what I was getting at. He reset the Universe, but failed to destroy the Joestar bloodline which was what his original intent was. He achieved his goal in the same vain as Kars

Everything about Erina's coffin randomly having a second compartment is indeed a retcon. Dio coming back somehow may have planned, but nothing suggests it in the story and the second compartment comes out of nowhere.

I'm not saying that it's a retcon, I'm saying that it's an indisputable loss on Jonathan's end to anyone that tries to claim Jolyne's the biggest loser.
