It's cloud storage for your Pokemon. Basically an RL version of the Box feature from the games. You'd be paying $16 a year for something that would take up the least possible amount of bandwidth imaginable on Game Freak/Nintendo's end.

$16 a year may not be a lot. But it's also a massive increase from the previous service they offered back on the 3DS. Bank itself was already kinda scummy, because previous games had the ability to import pokemon from older games for free. Sure bank let you store pokemon in the cloud service which could be worth $5, but if you didn't have the service you couldn't transfer pokemon.

I wouldnt say 100x. And I have all three. There are a little better. And they have chat. Which I understand why Nintendo probably does, tbh. And I actually like that much more. While they had some connection problems at first, I havent had any issues, nor have the people I play with, in a while. So, in the end, still cheaper...

Maybe in you area. Like I said, I havent had any problems since the beginning with Nintendo online. Nor have the people I played with that love in different places around the US that I play with. Ive probably had more disconnects on my Xbox than Nintendo. But, Ive had it longer. Idk about Playstation because I rarely play online with people except for very certain games. But its been a long time...

Yeah. People got mad at Dexit. So, they dont mind selling you the rest. Also, the extra money makes sense as its a console game. So, it cost the same price as the other big consoles game for that console. It would make no sense to sell it for less... I dont even know why people thought it wouldnt be $60, tbh...

The pricing is ass but they've got me by the short hairs, since it's the only way to hang onto all my old teams going back to 2003. I don't really have a choice. (At least I bought Sword used)

Also TBF, friendly reminder to everyone shitting on Nintendo here that Pokemon is owned and regulated by The Pokemon Company, which is a separate entity from Nintendo. Big N only had a 1/3 shared of TOC, so can't blame them for this one.
