Online saves do backup your Pokemon, why wouldn't they?

You used to be able to transfer Pokemon for free to the next gen of games

You can't even catch them all, what's the fucking point of paying nearly double for a previously standard feature lol

And here I was thinking they'd include a Pokemon Home subscription with a Switch Online subscription. Silly me.

So now you've got one subscription to pay for peer-to-peer internet, and another subscription to use cloud storage that the former subscription provides

But it's okay because it's cheap? I mean I guess I'd hope they wouldn't charge too much for literally nothing. You Pokemon players gotta get a backbone and put it to use someday. Sword and Shield continues to nickel and dime.

It backs up the save file rather than just the Pokmon, though. Which is different than what the home is suppose to do. AFAIK, you should be able to transfer you Pokmon to home, and then start a new game. Which is different than backing up your saves, which just keeps the whole file.

As for the free transfer, you use to and now you cant. If thats what game freak wants to do, then theyll do it. If you dont like it, you dont buy it. I believe the term is vote with your wallet...How effective that will be, Idk. Though, people will buy it, so it might not be that effective...

You can catch them all. Just not all in one game. Which has be true since the beginning, technically... Eventually, it was going to happen, anyway. Having 2,000 in one Pokmon game probably wont happen. And well eventually reach that point. Even Digimon has stopped putting every single one in every game. Because it does become ridiculous at some point.

And they will continue to nickel and dime people if people want those features. Also, they may be doing it because they dont want to add stuff. Like maybe they were trying to cut down on the number of Pokmon per game. People started crying about it, so maybe they were like, Well add them, but theyll cost something. That could be a possibility, as well...

People will buy it, so they can be ballsy. Thats the problem. Personally, Im fine with DLC, as long as its DLC and not needed for the main story. Like hiding the true ending. Unless the original ending was still an actual ending. In this case, the DLC is just extra thats not needed.

But people will still buy it because they think they need it...

But it is a minuscule price. Its not much. That and switch online together is still less than the other 2 systems. Which have been at those prices for ever. Even if both were cheaper, people would still complain. People have literally said that. Also, just because you think it should be less doesnt really mean it is less. Maybe when they priced it at $5, they under priced it. Either way, it isnt much. But its also not needed, so...

All the paid version does is save time and allow one to host trade rooms (maybe 1 month subscription is needed to transfer any Pokemon out of Bank and into game storage as SwSh can hold up to 960 Pokemon for each profile savegame and includes judging once one progresses through the Battle Tower far enough).
