My two cents: whether or not you think watching porn on free sites is piracy, it's dumb to make fun of people for paying and supporting an industry. It's the same thing as people who pirate games making fun of people that don't. Like, if no one paid then there wouldn't be any content.

Oddly not true! There are enough people who just like to upload themselves for fun that there is a thriving amateur market that people just upload for fun.

I guess this is a topic that has passed me by now though as I don't really watch porn anymore, and hey you are right people can spend their money however they like. I bought dragon Quest XI 3 times.

To me, laughing at it is no different than laughing at paying for music, television, music, or games. Which, admittedly, very many people do! But all of those to me on are on equal footing.

I do make exceptions when something straight up isn't available to you. When GoT was airing, for example, I didn't care one bit if Canadians pirated it, because HBO failed to provide them any method to actually watch it. They COULDN'T pay.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I assume most porn isn't region locked.

An excellent example! Laughing at buying porn is no different than someone laughing at you for this because they torrented DQXI day one.

Jokes on them then, the game crashed for months after it came out for pirated copies!

Except they do?? Most camgirls you can watch for free, and if you want to tip for then to do something, you can, or you can give them money for other premium services like private shows or snapchat or whatever. But if you don't want to do that you can just watch a ton of their content for free while someone else tips. If enough people are watching for free some other whale will step up and tip.

It's literally the free to play model. Use the general service for free and pay extra for premium features or if you just want to show support. It's working completely as intended if you watch and don't pay.

A vast majority of websites severely limit what models can do in open chat, not to mention most models opt not to offer much more than titty flashes and ass shakes in open chat, and put more intimate shows in gold shows or private/exclusive sessions. There are a few websites that do have cam models doing stuff in open chat, they're also incredibly unpopular with most models due to the nature of relying on a few paying customers to get shows going. The most successful sites don't allow anything below the waist in free chat.

I feel like there are too many generalizations being made to see any meaningful progress.

It's naive to think their isn't a (virtually) limitless supply of (intentionally) free porn on the internet. Hell, just type some sexy search terms into reddit or youtube. You will be overwhelmed with uploads that are clearly just put out there with no expectation of payment. And that's just two mainstream sites I randomly thought of.

I feel it's also a bit ridiculous to suggest that any time you masturbate while looking at someone who isn't your friend or lover, that you are degrading them. What a needlessly absolute stance. Why can't it be empowering instead of degrading? There are plenty of people out there who take pleasure and pride in the followings they can generate with their goods.

I think this is going to be a short topic because you either believe that is degrading or you don't.

So we either agree with your cocktail of nonsensical moral judgments, or we don't. Really it's even simpler than that because when your morals aren't consistent, you know that no one agrees with you, because you don't even agree with yourself.

That exact fact makes for quite long topics on b8 though.
