I've been reading Slam Dunk, it's pretty good so far but the pacing isn't good for brief sessions at all (i.e. oh the volume is ending, surely so must the matc- *match goes on for five more volumes*).

The cover art is fantastic anyway.

It's really, really good. I'm about 23 volumes in and I can't wait to see how it ends.

Yeah I think the story continues in the manga after the anime. But I did kinda try to dive back into it and forgot pretty much every char aside from the main team.

IMO although the manga went further it had a sort of sudden conclusion too. It was very exciting regardless and I liked how eventually they came together as a team, had their own strengths and suffered some losses too. The lower stakes compared to my usual experience with shonen manga offered a lot of play for the story, too.

I've heard sub watchers ranting and raving and hyping up Black Clover episode 119 for weeks now (it even trended on Twitter in Japan the day it aired) and today it finally aired dubbed so I could watch it for myself... HO. LY. SHIT. That was hype.

Yeah Slam Dunk was cartoonishly comical at many times but it's far more grounded than most modern sports mango/animu series. No special power bullshit that Prince of Tennis popularized, no unrealistic sudden power boost aside from the very first match. You go through an entire history of this one high school (?) team together from both the good and the bad. I guess no bullshit in general is a good way to describe Slam Dunk, though I can't say I remember the entire series that well.

I remember the recurring joke that either the captain or the vice captain always getting injured one way or another every single freaking match, forcing them to field the main character who kept sucking. But I do remember that the main character eventually reaches the fluke level of play he showed on the first ep, and it felt great to see him finally get there

Also, has anyone here seen the Re: Zero director's cut episodes? I'm curious if they're worth watching since I heard they're like an hour long or something like that.

From what I've heard, they just stretched out some scenes (characters pause to enhance the tone of certain scenes), removed CGI background characters, touched up some CGI, retranslated scenes, altered the fades and uncensored some scenes.

I suspect the final episode will have more than just minor edits, since they skipped the cliffhanger in the original broadcast.

Bleh. I guess it's more for people who haven't watched it yet. I liked it, but I felt like there was much to be desired in regards to details and certain characters. Oh well, hopefully they're just withholding what I want for season 2.

Better late than never. Not gonna lie, close to halfway through I kinda lost interest since it didn't really seem to be what I expected it would. But then what it turned into grew on me and now I'm eagerly awaiting S2.

Gigguk put in a very good word for Eizouken (among others shows, including one I really didn't expect) in his season in a nutshell video.... but, of course, he left out the best show of the season. A-FUCKING-GAIN. Why do I even bother watching these videos anymore when it feels like my favorite show of the season is always either left out entirely or only mentioned for a gag and not for the anime itself?

Cal, bofuri isn't even remotely best anime this season. I wouldn't even put it in top 3. It's alright, but it's absolutely not aots material.
Also, like Jeff stated, Gigguk's stated before he doesn't watch everything and isn't going to review everything. Being upset about that is a fruitless endeavor.

I'm not upset, just frustrated. I like Gigguk, he makes great content, and I get that some shows will fall through the cracks because he can't watch every show in a season. But it seriously feels like my favorite show gets excluded every single season at this point. I honestly can't remember the last time he actually talked for more than 10 seconds about a show that I really liked from that season without it just being a throwaway gag.

I know it's out of my control, and I know there's no point in getting upset over it. But it's still frustrating.

I just got to episode 15 of Carole & Tuesday, and hearing a super androgynous character like Desmond being voiced by the same voice actor who I remember mostly as Dio Brando and Ira Gamagori is really throwing me off. How in the hell did Patrick Seitz pull this role off so well?

They were all best, she was just the least best.

I actually watched it because I really liked the voice actress for Gabriel's voice as Sophie Twilight, but Gabriel didn't end up as my favorite. The show overall ended up considerably better than Ms. Vampire in my neighborhood (or whatever the full title was) too.

I just saw a post on /a/ mentioning this: If for some reason Bofuri needs to have a recap episode due to some kind of delay (coronavirus already delayed Railgun T for a week) it could just be 22 minutes of the game devs complaining about all of the insane ways that Maple has inadvertently broken their game. That would actually be a pretty hilarious way to do a recap episode.

Modern Warfare (2019) had a great campaign but I didn't get into the multiplayer. Still boot up MW:Remastered to waste a half an hour or so every now and then, though.

Because Keiichi Sigsawa, the author of the light novels, really liked the GGO world/concept and he wanted to use it in his work. He's also a huge gun nerd (his pen name is even derived from the name of a real life firearms manufacturer, SIG Sauer) and already showed some of that firearms knowledge a few times in the Kino's Journey series that he wrote previously.

The same bundle with P-Chan also has a pink M4A1 blueprint (they both fire rounds with pink tracer rounds) and an anime girl calling card.

There were also anime blueprints for the Oden (in real life it's called the ASh-12.7) and the AUG at one point, but those aren't in the store anymore: The Oden variant also came with a "chibi operator" weapon charm that you can put on any weapon.
