That being said I still liked it and the characters. The most interesting addition was the blind guy who ~~isnt a Jedi but kinda sorta uses the force to heighten his senses. The one-off is a relatable, engaging protagonist who has to earn her victories and the main series protagonist is a dull character who wins because has special powers and is baseline good at everything. Against whiny Anakin, Rey seems like Wonder Woman. Against Jyn, she feels like a cardboard cutout of what a good protagonist should be. 2) Let's kill off the expendable characters. That means EVERYONE. After all, people who went back and watched A New Hope would be asking "Where's Jyn?" if we didn't kill her off. Because in a war, especially one lasting multiple decades, you expect literally every person who has ever fought in it to be in the same room together.
