I don't really have a personal opinion on Riddle's whole attitude or whatever but the kind of thing he's doing seems like it'd be the definition of "grabbing the brass ring" like Vince claims to want.

The guy probably isn't dumb. He's seen the product. He's watched for multiple years now as wrestlers with buckets of talent that were content to play good little soldiers or who went about asking for expanded roles in what would normally be considered the "professional" or "right" fashion have been passed over in favor of McMahon's personal hand-picked SUPERSTARS. Can you really blame Riddle for trying something different? Odds are he was never going to be pushed as a legitimate star either way considering the way WWE almost always works.

it's pro wrestling, yes, absolutely. and goldberg DID suck at his job lol, it's fine if you're a cop or vince mcmahon himself to be like "well pal that is disrespectful" but as fans why would we not want to see stuff like that? it's cool and fun.

and let's reiterate - I have Riddle's "Retire Brock" t-shirt from when nobody thought he would even sign with WWE. This is a long term thing he's wanted for years and with Brock's career possibly able to end any time now and the amount of time it takes WWE to get someone to a level to challenge Lesnar (it took 10 years for Drew, for example), Riddle has to do something to make the fans want that match, to make it a money match that vince and brock can't deny because it's money. it's not about personal feelings or respect or any of that BS. it's about money and making a fight people want to see. Riddle is very capable of that, and people do already wanna see both those matches even though the other guys have not even acknowledged him. When he's a TV star they'll have no choice - and he's too good to not become a TV star. One of those matches will happen.

He's trying to drum up interest in a match because it's the only way to get WWE to do anything. What Brock said is much more dickish than that.

At this point if you're a former indie guy in WWE that just goes about your business in the generally accepted fashion and you expect your talent alone to get you pushed, you're an idiot.

It may happen, but the odds are stacked against you. Why wouldn't you do something out of the ordinary? It's at least been somewhat successful in that it's gotten people to talk about him.

My entire point is, "is this a feud Brock, Vince, and Riddle all WANT and said, sure, let's fucking go." Becky and Ronda pulled this shit, but they were in the middle of the Wrestlemania build. It was happening, it was done, and I think everyone involved knew it, wanted it, and said go with it.

Brock and Vince don't give a fuck, and Riddle's doing it anyway, probably without consent. I can't make that any more clear. Drum up business with people who are in on the joke and ok with it.

I've found his posts irritating and tryhard, I must admit. I don't think that makes me a "cop", and if it works and he gets the match out of it then more power to him, the hustle worked.

Maybe prick is the wrong word, and kind of strong, but I think it's perfectly valid to look at Riddle's posts and be turned off to him. With that said, it was mostly the Goldberg stuff that I found annoying, the Lesnar stuff less so. But the Goldberg stuff was first, so that was my first impression.

People are not fucking bootlicking "cops" because they don't like the way Matt Riddle has gone about things on twitter, calm the fuck down

I finally said 'Ive had enough of this shit' when Becky's feuds coming out of Mania were 'being Rollins girlfriend' and 'Lacey fucking Evans'

Steiner at some point decided he likes WWE again but it was a slow burn in both directions.

i don't like wwe as a company, their business practices, their bigger philosophies, ANYTHING about smackdown, or most of the characters there. but they had a good raw a couple of weeks ago and the royal rumble was stellar, in my book.

it's the most interesting thing she can do but i have to say i'm a bit scared of the match. it does serve to elevate the NXT championships if the rumble winner goes for one though, so it's probably the right move.

It's just the posts he's made don't amuse me at all. They're not funny. They don't entertain me, or really interest me, I don't think they were...I dunno, witty in any way. I think if you do what Riddle did right - and "right" in this case is entirely subjective - then maybe Strife and I and others would think differently about it, and him.

And I don't think I disliked it purely because he's going against the grain or against Goldberg or against WWE or some shit like that.

I know they won't, but they should really get all the NXT titles on Mania and have the Takeover the day before just be grudge matches. Like you can find something to fill out a Takeover with great matches but treating NXT like a proper third brand definitely needs to have regular title defenses on WWE PPVs.

My solution to that is this year, only put one NXT match on Mania, and next year scrap Mania Takeover, have a 2 night Mania and mix NXT in there
