Suppose that you are in an American suburban neighborhood, and you are exiting the driveway into a two-way roadway. Traffic moving in opposite directions is separated by a two-way turn lane. There are several cars parked on the curb to your right and to your left, so your line of sight to either side is inhibited to some extent. What would you do if you wished to make a left turn?

You pull into the center lane then merge into traffic when it's safe to do so.

No. Move slowly and traffic should be able to avoid your bumper comfortably or have sufficient time seeing your bumper emerge to stop in reasonable time.

Release the hounds and when traffic swearves to avoid them, jump into the lane I want and drive away.

Stop off and buy more hounds on the way back home.
