Punching is less lethal than any weapon. Superheroes tend to not kill.

Punching Nazis is pretty iconic after all.

The thing is, the super heroes you mention are the common American archetype of having a "no killing" rule, and that's partially represented by fighting unarmed.

Of course, you can kill someone unarmed, especially with super strength, but it's a little more believable if someone punches someone unconscious, over they hit them in the head with a hammer and they're "just unconscious".

The whole no killing versions of batman are so dumb imo

so many innocent people die because he refuses to do anything to stop mass murderers aside from handing them over to the police who toss them into the revolving door that is Arkham

Yeah, there have been lots of instances where Batman does things that logically should kill people but according to the narrative he still hasn't broken his no kill rule.

But that doesn't change that the writers are still going for the illusion that the characters are not killing.

Cops in comic stories are often as useless as stormtroopers. They're just there for dramatic tension, they're not actually allowed to be effective.

Even super villains that have no means of defending themselves against guns just never get shot either because the cops can't hit slow moving targets are are unwilling to shoot at all so the super heroes can arrive and fight the villain themselves.

True. They make it so he still hasn't. But did you see the third video I posted. It shows him killing some more. In like the cartoons and stuff. Now, most of them can be seen as not him killing, or killing indirectly. But I think him killing Owlman was definitely killing.

Okay but, in the Spider-man game, I can grab a manhole cover, swing it around, and then slam it onto someones head.

They're definitely dead, not only do those weigh around 400 pounds and are made of solid iron, but the force of it being swung around would also increase the impact of it.

Well, in the games, you can straight throw random thugs off of buildings, but that's a player choice, not a story choice.

The narrative just doesn't acknowledge that you've just killed someone, which is the same conversation had about Batman in the posts above.

There is a scene in a comic where captain atom is fighting superman and he mentions when two guys like them who have all these super powers fight, they tend to just punch each other instead and he asks superman if he knows why. Then promptly decks supes and says "because it feels good"
