I'm a fan of Armour Break, and any effects that shred defence such as Meltdown (FF8), Expose Weakness (Dota2, but I think it was renamed to Corrode or something), Flask of Ichor (Terraria) and so on

If it's an open scene, and routing the enemy isn't required, sleep is sometimes a nice alternative. Otherwise, petrification tends to fill the "defeat enemy" condition nicely. If the enemy is more dangerous, and absolutely must die, slow is a nice one for making dangerous enemies more manageable. If it's not especially dangerous, but more of a meat shield, yeah, a way to get through its defenses is ideal.

If there's an option for it, I usually start every boss fight with Slow or a variant of it.

more turns for me = more pain for them

Probably blind, since it's a heavy accuracy debuff and it tends to last longer and is less conditional than something like sleep. Granted, frozen is also great, even when it ends via a guaranteed critical hit on a frozen opponent.

I feel confusion is underrated, especially when you need to shutdown spellcasters. I don't care if they still have a chance to attack me, as long as they're not casting spells then they're effectively removed from the fight. It's better than silence because a confused mage can't do anything to fix their confused status, whereas a silenced mage can just use Vocalize
