The thing is, if it hadn't been for cotton eye Joe, you could have had a switch a long time ago.

Also, the switch has been out for a while and it's not really that expensive anymore. You probably could have had one already, or save up and get one pretty quickly. So get to work, Joe!

I put away $10 a week since Animal Crossing was announced

Combining with what I saved, several gift cards I came across while cleaning and a pretty good deal at Target, I bought myself one yesterday :)

Haven't had a chance to play around with it yet, but Christmas is just around the corner

What you mean? Most consoles play last gen games and much cheaper. You can even get a cheap ps3/360 to get most of its library.

The only amazing game I've seen so far is Breath of the Wild.

Metroid Prime 4 might be good, but after the offensive way they handled Other M........I am extremely skeptical.

Shin Megami Tensei V would be the system seller for me.....if only they'd give us more information on it. And confirm whether or not it's Switch "exclusive" vs. "timed" exclusive.

I've always had better luck on the other consoles when it comes to deep and rewarding experiences.

Nintendo really needs to step it up.

It's been my favorite system in a long time. I wish all major systems could be portable like that. It's really convenient to be able to just take it into bed and play it before I go to sleep.

I have been happy with my purchase so far. I think the system is worth buying

It's easily my favourite Nintendo console ever. The accessibility of the console makes me prefer getting multiplatform games for it, even if the PS4 version has better graphics or framerate.

Just buy one. I'm loving mine, a great port of Assassin's Creed Black Flag came out for it recently and it runs much better than III and the last gen versions, plus it's portable.

Idk about them but my problem with it is that nothing ever goes on sale for more than like 5$, Bayonetta 2 is still nearly full price and that's a 5 year old game.

I think it's somewhat of an awful home console for many reasons. Basically since I would never want to play in un-docked mode, every one of the portability features is a negative for me. Every time I want to change the game OR charge the controllers I have to pull the dock out of my TV stand, and take the system off the dock. The controllers are horrible and absurdly expensive.

Furthermore The games are absurdly expensive. ($60-$80 each) The pro controller is something that should have come with the system but it's 90 dollars. Pay-to-play online which I know is standard but still sucks.

Some games are great. I enjoyed Smash and Mario Odyssey.

If you ignore any games that are available on other systems, and just stick to exclusives (which are mostly first-party Nintendo games), it has an extremely weak library. If you dislike the mobile aspect of it, it can leave you with absolutely no reason to ever want the system.

Conversely, if you love the mobile aspect, then the availability of non-exclusive titles on a portable system may be a huge plus, and thus it will seem to have a much stronger library to you.

As an example, for someone who dislikes the idea of the Switch, Skyrim being on it really isn't going to be a selling point. But for someone who likes playing on the go, they may love the fact that Skyrim is on the Switch, and count it as part of a strong collection of games.

Ultimately, like most things, it depends on what you're looking for in gaming. Personally, if someone gave me a Switch for free, I'd probably give it away to someone else or sell it. There's pretty much zero there to make me want it. But I can also understand why other people might love it.

I have to agree with PO on this one. If you take out of consideration first party Nintendo Titles (which are the same rehashed tropes for the past 30 years) all that's left are a bunch of games with superior PC versions. Nintendo has always been a Pokemon palatform for me, so they get my sale on that, but as someone who doesn't own a TV, the Switch Lite in particular is interesting. At least it will be getting some interesting semi-exclusives in the future (e.g. no PC version for Cold Steel 3 like I mentioned).

because i have to spend all my money on food, shelter, and bills. my job hardly pays me shit and the us government doesnt care enough to raise the minimum wage and help out poor people

I also make over $100k/yr and never had a job under $10/hr because I live in a state that that respects workers.
I also have over $200k in savings.
Then again I actually had to pay for my education and had to go through much of college without internet access.
