Super mash is fascinating, im really curious to see how it turns out. This sort of infinite possibilities stuff tends to not live up to intentionally crafted experiences for me.

To be fair it has had five years for techniques to improve. Look at the Alien Isolation port - it's better on Switch than PS4!

This is the first time I've ever seen people talk about CrossCode, I'm playing it right now and I can't recommend it enough - I'm completely baffled by the fact that it's not hugely popular, it's one of the most polished and robust retro-indie games anyone's ever made. it's like Secret of Mana's gameplay, Zelda's puzzles, and Phantasy Star's aesthetics fucked and had a baby that was way better

Is it only on PC right now? I've never heard of it either and it looks really neat.

CrossCode? Yeah I think it's just PC, I'm playing it on Steam

CrossCode's combat has a few issues, but it's overall fun. The puzzle solving is great and after a certain point the story kicks into high gear. Would definitely recommend it.

I adore CrossCode's combat, I haven't really had any issues with it, it flows super smoothly, it's just the right level of difficult, and all the various combat options seem pretty viable. I do have some complaints about the game but they're pretty minor (figuring out how to reach certain areas can be TOO difficult sometimes; gathering some of the items you need for some equipment is a chore and can result in overleveling past the equipment's relevance anyway)

Also I have a really crappy PC so I get some pretty severe slowdown/crashing issues (I've probably had to restart the game over 50 times just because of this) but I think a better PC than mine won't have any issues, I've put up with it because the game's worth it

Something about the way dashing works feels stiff to me, and I dislike how long you have to stay still for your ranged shots to become accurate - it hurts the fluidity the combat seems to be going for. On that note, I don't like how often important combat passives are tied to weapons you'll eventually have to change out for increased stats, even at the cost of losing a playstyle you might prefer. It's still fun, but could be improved in a few areas.

I think it actually sold really well? it's just one of those weird things where it was in early access forever and is PC only (for now) so like, people have definitely been talking about it, just over a long period of time and not among places B8ers typically see.

I mean, B8 is exactly the kind of place for a game like this, considering it's basically a high-budget RPG from 1995, so I'm not sure where I would have to be to see people talking about it
