it's a narrative-heavy third person action adventure game with significant production values behind it, and reviewed in line with modern AAA standards. that's why.

I think a lot of reviews docked points for technical issues because it runs like garbage on consoles and you need a top of the line PC to run it properly.

Also it is currently Epic exclusive on PC so even less people played it since people hate that.

I actually didn't expect Three Houses to be robbed so hard. It has a terrific Metacritic/Opencritic score. The critics mostly loved it. And the fanbase has been happily chirping about it since launch. Not showing up in Best RPG is nuts.

Man DMCV and KH3 got snubbed on GotY. What the fuck is Control? Meh whatever, I guess its somewhat expected due to release time and such but Control? Seems like an odd choice out of what could be there.

Anyway my choices / expectations atm:

GotY:
Resident Evil 2. Would be happy with Sekiro too.

Best Game Direction:
Sekiro, OW, or RE2

Best Narrative:
Disco Elysium.

Best Art Direction:
Death Stranding I guess?

Best Score/Music
I'd be happy with DMCV or KH3 winning. Might give the edge to DMCV for me because Devil Trigger is too good.

Best Audio Design:
Probably will end up going to Death Stranding though might give vote to RE2

Best Performance:
Its probably going to end up going to Reedus

Best Action Game:
DMCV. Astral Chain would be acceptable but it should be DMCV
