Obviously this is nothing but pure speculation as both figures died when Obama was a small child.

But if they were still alive today you have to think both those two civil rights giants would have had strong outspoken opinions on his presidency.

I think MLK would publically support it and be very proud of Obama breaking ground.

But I think Malcolm X would not be happy and think Obama was too moderate and weak willed.

That picture's funnier when you imagine it's Malcolm X holding Obama's head and MLK is just like "I don't know wtf these two are on, I'm not with them".

I think MLK would've been happy at the progress and recognize that there is still much racism in this country to work through

Malcolm X would regret that another such talented black man went the change from inside route over separatism

For those who havent read his autobiography, or just dont remember this part, I recommend reading up on Bro. Malcolms thoughts on the famous March on Washington (https://bit.ly/2QmVDku) which he called the Farce on Washington because of the way TPTB manipulated what was shaping up to be a real, angry revolutionary protest consisting of mass amounts of people.

They took the movement over completely, using the media and Uncle Tom types/rich white liberals and manipulated it for their own devices, quelling the unrest. I feel this same thing happens today every time someone tries to stand up and gains any real traction with the people. The elite get nervous and infiltrate.

What that March on Washington did do was lull [outdated term for black people] for a while.

MLK would have hated his hawkishness and inaction about inequity.

Malcolm X would have seen him as a charismatic puppet propped up by the age-old system. He seemingly predicted Obama in at least one of his speeches.

Whats funny is, one time someone fed me the conspiracy theory that Obama is the illegitimate son of Malcolm. >.>

MLK would have liked guy who ran for president. He would have hated the guy we got.

Obama didn't reach out that much the black community. In fact he attacked the black community more then helping. Then he was kind of a war hawk, and He and Hillary open Libya back open to black slavery.
So MLK would not have liked that at all.

X would felt that he gave in to republicans away to much. Which Obama did, he never really tried to throw his power around. He has some of the fewest EO in history and he let Republicans stop him from doing more. Like it was too scared to be seen as the upset black guy. So he just let them walk over him.

His father was killed tied to railcar tracks iirc, but yeah, it was likely the black legion according to rumors in his town afterward, as they had been harassing his family for years and burned down the family home at least once. The authorities labeled it a "suicide" thus depriving the family of eligibility for his life insurance.

He dealt with a lot growing up.

X would have hated him. Despite what media says, Obama is only half black.

MLK may have embraced him, but a lot of Obama's policies conflict with MLK's beliefs, MLK was a pretend "conservative" even though he went to a lot of communist meetings.

If they met younger, pot smoking party Obama, he would not have been apart of the movement, they would have wrote him off very quickly as a fake.

If we're judging them based on how they were at the time of death, I actually think they might both have approved. They were both going through some major personal transitions when they died, which in both cases is believed to have played some role in the killers' motives: MLK was starting to shift pretty dramatically to the left, while Malcolm X's harder stances were beginning to soften. I don't think either would have embraced him wholeheartedly, but I do think they'd have seen him as someone worth working with.
