In case you have not heard, most of the titles that were listed as being available at launch.....will not be.

In fact only a total of 12 games will be available, and you can only play them/use it with the $130 bundle as well (no seperate streaming service if you have a pc etc...and none planned either).

This strangely includes Borederlands 3 (one of the biggest draws they were going to have at launch) and the exclusive Orcs must die 3 (the only game that was only available through Skadia).

It does say that BL 3 will be available by the end of 2019 along with other titles, but the requirement to shell out $130 smackeroos to pay $10 a month for the streaming service is going to make many people hesitate (myself included).

With no direct streaming to PC's you can't have a "free trial" since you need to buy the equipment etc to use it. The projected game selection mostly blows, although eventually (When they get released) it will include cyberpunk 2077 and Balders gate 3, with the new entry costs...you could buy BL3, Cyberpunk 2077 and Balders gate 3 at full retail price for the cost of streaming each of them for 1 month ($130 base +10 per each month = $160 vs $180 for a full purchase of all 3 even without any sales (and you know you could get at least 10% off from GMG on em...which makes it the same price).

Sad I had high hopes for the service getting us away from consoles eventually and directly using streaming services for gaming in the future:(

Yeah I heard that the library is lackluster

Even if the service ends up working as well as they insist its gonna flop if there arent good games to play on the service

You had high hopes to pay for a streaming service and then pay full price ( each game ) to play games on said service..?

Yeah, alot of people were down on it. I actually sent them an email saying they should hold off till they had a bigger/better game selection, and to launch when at least 1 premium game would release at the same time, so they could offer that as part of their streaming service (and therefore save people the money from buying that game).

Sadly instead of following my selection, they are now launching with WAY less games and not even Borderlands 3, which was pretty much the only of the launch games people were waiting for (and even then it was over a month after it was released).

Big mistake, even if it works well, this shabby launch is going to make it take WAY longer for people to notice if it actually rocks/is useful.

It may do so poorly before then that it will just go away.

Google Streamdia is just a joke. Games will have noticeable lag. Internet connection has to be very strong ( with no data caps ). You have to pay for the streaming service and pay full price for games to play on said service.. it's a total joke. Only idiots that like to flush money down the toilet will eat this garbage "service" up.

I'll stick to my Physical games while they are still making them. And when that dies off I'll just play Physical games from a back log.. I'll only buy future games that are absolute must plays for me like the Legend of Zelda for example.

F*** Google and F*** the Streamdia.

The way it was going to work (not sure if it changed), was like microsofts gamepass etc, and you could pay $10 a month to have access to the games in the library. There was no charge for the streaming service outside of that, but you had to buy the equipment.

Initially they were also working on making it available to use directly on PC's (you still payed for the streaming service, but didn't have to get the equipment). Now that has been nixed, at least temperoarily, and you can actually only get the service with the $130 bundle (which is bunk).

Lag at least if you lived fairly close to a data center, was supposedly light enough that you could play competative FPS games without a problem (less then 10 microseconds or something), but since there are no competative FPS games on launch at this point (I guess Destiny counts?), I don't htink it matters.

Most of the things they initially were showcasing seem to be gone or reduced etc at this point. The price point to enter was initially $35 as well (just had to buy the streaming device) and even that might have been optional if you had a pc....now you can't even enter the door without spending $130.

YEah, I would happily have given it a chance they way the described it a month or two ago, even if I had to blow $35 to do so (figuring that BL3 would cost $60....so I could play it 3 months along with other games on stadia.....for the cost of buying it).

AT this point even if ALL 3 games I wanted to play were available, I wouldn't be saving money.....and I would only have them temporarily...so yeah, makes no sense at all for me now.

Nobody wants a streaming-only console. Nobody uses gamepass or PSs version of it. We want to own our games, not give developers/publishers the right to seize them whenever the devs have a discrepancy with their publisher/licenses get sold, etc.

You can actually play on a desktop through a chrome browser no extra hardware needed

And the monthly charge is only if you want the pro service that lets you stream 4K games

That is what they said before, but I just read an article saying the only way to use it at first at least would be with the $130 bundle. Maybe the article was wrong (hopefully), although honestly with the game selection at launch it won't matter. It might still by the end of the year though.

Nobody uses gamepass

gamepass literally made more money last year than sony or nintendo made in general.

good thing that you don't have that now. even physical games can literally be taken from you if they want to, legally.

Where is your source on gamepass making more money than Sony/Nintendo in general? That seems a bit out to lunch imo.

And lmao if anyone tried to come to my house and take my Physical games from me hahahaha. Please.
