19 y/o Redneck, Jayden Straight will head straight to Prison...FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE as he will likely DIE in PRISON after he was sentenced to 100 YEARS in the big house for SHAKING his 8 month old daughter to death so violently that it SHATTERED her SKULL!!

He plead guilty to second degree murder, 3 counts of willful injury and 2 counts of child endangerment when he was just 17 when he killed his young daughter, Raija who was rushed to Mercy Medical Centre in Des Moines, Iowa with serious injuries before succumbing to them.

She died with multiple skull fractures and broken ribs as her mother, Ri Bambino claimed her little girl was hit multiple times by the teen father

Straight turned 18 weeks after his daughter's death and was charged with FIRST DEGREE MURDER but made a deal with prosecutors for a leser charge..and it was handed a 50 year stretch for second degree murder plus additional years for other charges.

He will be jailed until 2119

Raija was born in November 2017 as straight posted a picture of himself holding her that said "My lil everything Raija".

A medical examination read that her injuries were deliberate assault and could not be explained as unintentional or accidental

Raija's grieving family said her life was stolen from her as they can't imagine how they can move on without their beautiful baby girl in their lives

Do you think 100 years was too "harsh"?

Harsh? No. Stupid? Leaning yes.
Just one person's opinion, but I'd wager he was probably just too stupid to realize just how fragile an infant's life can be. Regardless of intention though, he's still obviously so stupid it's deadly, and should be locked up for the safety of others; I don't have issue with that part. What I do find issue with is that taxpayers will be paying for the stupid failure's room and board for as long as he lives. If you're going to throw a person's life away like that, then have the guts to end it outright rather then let it waste away slowly over many decades at taxpayers' expense.

---wait, AND he was a minor at the time?! He took a plea AND was a minor, yet got 100 years? There are serial killers -- adults, no less -- who got shorter sentences than that! wtf is wrong with this criminal justice system?

A common misconception is that killing prisoners is cheaper than housing them (and presumably in first world countries) the cost of all the bureaucracy and all the other crap makes this not the case if you "officially" kill them.

That is unless you Epstein them.

I understand what youre trying to say but...

The DA isnt your friend. And this is exactly what happens when you dont shut the fuck up and get your own, not appointed, lawyer.

But at the end of the day his sentence is FAR more lenient than the one he passed down to poor, little Raija. Thats what all must remember. She had ONE life, and ONE father charged with protecting her. Not only did he not protect her but it was by his own hands that she met her demise.

I know you guys will agree that the sentence was fair. You know... sanctity of life, remember?

I'm sorry, but I don't want to give the government the power to kill whoever they want without appeals

Meaning let the prisoners kill themselves?

Public defenders aren't beholden to the courts. And the point of a plea is to take a reduced charge.

Just stop. No developed nation believes in the kind of Hammurabi's Code you're advocating. More importantly, it's ridiculously inconsistent. Most ADULT parents who murder their kids get reasonable sentences or, at the very least, far less egregious ones. Why is he different? Hell, then you have Casey Anthony who murdered her baby, brazenly lied to investigators, and was able to walk. Considering he was a minor at the time and plead out, he should have got closer to *15* years than even 30.

And that sanctity includes the treatment of prisoners. Even you have to admit that the sentence is both cruel AND unusual; it's the kind of shit the government was supposed to ban.

I just got back from McDonald's and feel like a piece of shit. There is a McD's right by my apartment that I go to often. I went there earlier today and got a Quarter Pounder with Cheese, 6 chicken McNuggets, and a Sausage McMuffin. After work I was craving it all over again and ended up stopping by the drive-thru again.I was pretty worried the same girl at the first window would still be on shift so I put on a hat and put the collar of my jacket up. When I drove up with my exact same order as earlier she was there to take my money. She said, "you're here AGAIN?" as I was handing her the money while trying to avoid eye contact and I just lost it. I have social anxiety and I ended up retracting my arm so fast I spilled the change all over her side and started stuttering something about "my wife" and then I started to hyperventilate and felt an anxiety attack coming on.I just floored it and I am so glad there was no one in front of me because I peeled out of there. I can still see her face.I'll have to start going to a new McDonald's even though the closest one is like 10 minutes away. Maybe I'll switch to Wendy's I don't know.Anyway, aside for just sharing one of the worst and most embarrassing moments of the year so far I was wondering how you would have reacted and responded to the cashier's remark.
