They noticed how the game series, having been out for dozens of years, earned them a total of about 15 billion dollars (as per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_video_game_franchises#List), and then Pokemon Go, having been out for only 3 years, alone made them more than 3 billion dollars.
I suspect they're going to mostly focus on mobile titles from now on...

Idk I think it was only a matter of time they could repackage the exact same game with marginal improvements before people finally said some shit.

People have been very against this game since very really on. But youre right. The dex cut was the last straw.

Cut a bunch of features to add very little in return.
Cut over HALF of all available Pokmon. They are not in the game at all.

This is 2 decades of piling spaghetti code on top of the previous games' spaghetti code in the making

The only way to fix it is to hard reboot the series and its mechanics, which probably means retiring the entire old roster of pokemon and starting from scratch again

i agree about a hard reset but it doesnt have to be that dramatic.

They could just reintroduce their mons they already have in small chunks. They could mix up the order completely. Could really do any number of things.

But that requires a little thing called

What are you talking about? Pokemon fans have been complaining about GameFreak's laziness for years. It's not their fault when casual gamers come out in droves to buy the latest Pokemon games. Besides, the Pokemon games have been mediocre since Gen VI so you're little behind on the times, gramps.

Being aimed at children isn't an excuse for poor quality. In every industry, from games to books to tv shows to toys, children's content and products can be just as good and just as bad as adult equivalents. "It's for kids" has never been a defense. >_>

It's not even mediocrity at this point, it's just complete and utter stagnation for longevity and profits sake. This is why GF will introduce a good feature in one gen and then scrap it for something objectivly worse the next. Becuase GF knows its audience will never leave.

The same adults b*** about the same issues each gen but always buy the game still. It's sad as f***.

Dragonball is in the same boat. The newest RPGs is literally just xenoverse with a open world being marketed as a rpg. And nobody is noticing this

I think GameFreak could get away with introducing only a small handful of new Pokmon each generation and focusing on creative use of the existing bestiary

But to do that would mean they would need to put effort into making a genuinely interesting and dynamic adventure beyond collect some badges, beat the criminal team, and become the champion. Maybe catch a legendary

Theres so much incidental lore thats been built up over the years and GameFreak almost never touches any of it.

Like I said, TC has been at this for quite a long while regurgitating the same shit over and over again. It's either he loves to complain about it or he truly thinks he's serving justice. Either way, it's not a good look and definitely not as harmless as you're implying.
