Thanks for the solidarity, man. Im just kind of tired of slapstick humor tacked onto the end of most scenes in recent films. I was super excited to get Spider-Man in the MCU but Peter feels a lot more like Miles than himself (to me).

It's really strange to see.

The weirdest part is pretending they actually read the comics while spouting off information that is blatantly false, I remember last year somebody was telling me that Thanos doesn't do the snap in the comics.

I don't know where the cult part of their fanbase came from and it's just weird, especially when most comic readers do actually level criticisms at the films.

As a life long Marvel fan, I find MCU fanboys insufferable.

Luckily I was never that big on MCU forums or anything so it's not that hard to ignore them. I have a friend who was getting kind of annoying but after the end of Endgame he seems to talk about it a lot less.

I dont hate it. Its just...not what I fell in love when I saw Iron Man in theaters. The more characters they put into these movies the less fleshed out others feel.

For these types of fanboys it's the idea of something that is somehow meaningful and not its content. Dr Strange and Spiderman on screen team up is stupendous, whether how that's portrayed is fun and interesting or not. That's the impression I've gotten from talking with them

I actually dont visit the FB groups anymore. Once they reach a certain member count they get taken over by people in other countries who just want to make pen pals.

It is very annoying and tiresome talking to MCU fans. Some of them cannot comprehend that other people may not be the biggest fans of those films. I say that Raimis Spider-Man 2 is still the best Marvel movie ever made and I stand by that statement 100%. You would not believe how many fans both online and in real life would get on me for saying that. How dare I prefer that movie over something like one of the Avengers movies.

Funnily enough, that team up happened some years before in Ultimate Spiderman (the cartoon, IDK about the comic)

The really entrenched fandoms are more interested in their social group than the thing they're fans of, so they become prone to hive mindedness.

Its why I just like stuff instead.
