Some of them, yeah, as well as explaining concepts that were explained in previous games.

For the record, Cold Steel 1 and 2 basically take place concurrently with the Crossbell games. Trails in the Sky is...2-3 years before that, I think?

Trails in the Sky FC takes place in 1202.
Trails in the Sky SC takes place in 1202-early 1203
Trails in the Sky the 3rd takes place at the end of 1203

Zero no Kiseki takes place in the first half of 1204.
Ao no Kiseki takes place in the last half of 1204.

Cold Steel starts in April 1204 which is like halfway through Zero.
Cold Steel 2 starts in late 1204, and a bit before the Final Chapter of Ao. CS2's Divertissment and Epilogue are early 1205.
Cold Steel 3 starts in 1206.

It's really more some world background then it is rundowns of the past games. There is mention of some events from the earlier games in there though.

I would suggest making a copy of your save file here. That way if you screw up the timing you can come back and try again to at least see the supports and get them recorded in the support conversation viewer.

Started the Chapter 3 Field Exercise. Didn't get too far though, made it to Ordis and then stopped.

I'd like to think Ash is just chuuni af with the whole clutching his head and having his eye flash to unleash inner power but that's... that's a red flag in this series! His S-Craft is my favorite of New Class VII though. Rean is #2 (Spirit Unification Rean in particular.)
