It didn't help that I showed articles (from Forbes and Slate) about studies that supported the claim that rates of autism diagnosis among trans people are higher than the general population. The discussion on a scientific level is still "how much of an advantage is male puberty and testosterone over time", and unfortunately the answer so far seems to be "unbelievably huge." The other part of the argument is "does going on a HRT course for 2 years remove all male puberty advantages", and the science is less clear about that one. That's not to say that it isn't leaning in a certain direction though. To put it another way. Would it be fair to allow 50% of competitors to use for 15 years steroids, and 50% of them to never be allowed to take steroids? Would that be on a level as say, basketball players who are 6ft versus basketball players who are 7ft? I don't think so, and not even close. Of course none of this means trans people should have their dignity harmed, and that is another unfortunate thing about all of this; their dignity is being harmed.
