They had a lot of good callbacks to the comic, but also a bunch of new stuff that doesnt overly rely on the source material. Also, Trent Reznor crushed the sound track, it was amazing. The Arrow Cross was an ancient symbol of the Magyar tribes who settled Hungary, it was used in Christianity and the Arrow Cross Party during WWII. The Aryan Fist is just a recolored Black Power Fist. Runes and Thors Hammer are old Viking symbols. The Bowlcut is an old haircut. Fasces is an old Roman symbol. H8 is just 1337 speech. Identitarian lambda is just a Lambda symbol. The Imperal German Flag is just an old flag. The Iron Cross is an old pre-German military decoration. Etc etc. --- GameFAQs isn't going to be merged in with GameSpot or any other site. As a standalone concept it's a great idea, but riding off of the Watchmen name feels unnecessary and confusing. Is the viewer supposed to be aware of the original story in order to understand the events of the show? I'm still uncertain as to how it's connected to Watchmen other than aesthetics and very minor costuming references. Why the fuck is Rorschach's mask being appropriated to white supremacy? I wouldn't go that far. I'd say it's tantamount to a police force breaking out an APC. Perhaps each precinct has one or two. Or maybe this precinct is special in particular.
