So according to Dave, the show didnt start on Saudi TV until 40 minutes after it was supposed to, when Vince finally got the money from the last Saudi show which they had never paid him.

Then they kept the wrestlers from leaving as retaliation

Brock jumping to Raw was hotshotted. It was meant to be the big news to happen on the Backstage premiere on Tuesday. Had to pay Brock for an extra appearance.

Most of the talent Dave talked to say they will never go back there, with some saying they cant wait to leave WWE now. Said they felt like hostages even though technically it was just the plane that was hostage. They got another charter in the air with just enough top talent to do SD but it didnt make it in time.

Many are also upset at a kayfabe WWE.com article which indicated that the second charter was funded by the talent on it because they were the most eager and motivated to get to SD, which makes the rest of them look bad.

WWE is now trying to get video statements from talent to talk about the mechanical issues to downplay any other explanation, even from talent that didnt go.

Morale is low

Only thing I'm confused about is if they were basically held hostage and forced to exit the plane, why'd they let other wrestlers leave on another charter flight?

He continued, Im not trying to say that nobody believed that story because I know one person did believe that story and did say there were mechanics working on the plane. The amount of red tape my work goes through before anyone gets paid is unreal. I saw the flow chart once. It's bizarrely overcomplicated. There's this idea that that sort of thing is a pure act of malice, and while I definitely wouldn't rule that out, it's probably just a combination of an inefficient system and people being too lazy to work through it.

AJ Styles on Mixer Livestream: Comments on Saudi Arabia

AJ does a Mixer livestream gaming channel and just started a stream a few minutes ago. Its his first since Crown Jewel, and started off right away with his perspective of the flight delay. He mentioned:

- There was an unspecified issue with the plane and they were originally not allowed to board. Something with paperwork.
- They had called for a refueling service, but the servicemen, they were told, had gone home for the evening.
- By the time this was sorted out, the pilots were no longer cleared to fly because their shift had timed out.
They were then asked to find a hotel and wait for the next flight.
- There were no guns or anything crazy like a hostage situation. His wife called worried about the rumors.
- Once the finally got on the (second) flight home, one of the pilots sat with them in the cabin and explained there was some kind of service issue.
- Hes not sure what happened with Vince and the Royal Prince, and its not his job to speculate.
- Just wants to go to work and do the best job he can, and mentions there are a lot of good people at WWE, and are all on the same team.
- Missed his sons wrestling match and was very angry about that, but is just happy to be home.

I actually had basically that exact situation happen to me on a flight from Florida to New Mexico this past summer. My flight was only delayed like 9 hours (with 3 boarding attempts) but I could see things being worse with an international flight.

I'm not saying nothing fishy went down but this kind of thing does happen even in American airports. That being said, could easily have been fed that story precisely because that kinda thing happens.

Like this literal exact sequence happened to me aside from a wife calling me about rumors. The only difference is we were allowed to board twice, and sat in the plane for a while twice.

I got like 10000 miles as compensation but yeah.

Theyve had the $60m the Saudis have owed them since June for Saudi Show 3 sitting in Accounts Receivable in their financial reports for the past 2 quarters.

STAMFORD, CONN. and RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA, November 4, 2019 Following the historic Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, WWE (NYSE: WWE) and the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) have expanded their live event partnership through 2027 to include a second annual large-scale event. WWE and GEA also continue to work towards the completion of a media agreement in the MENA region.

This long-term partnership demonstrates WWE and GEAs commitment to bring sports entertainment to the region and supports Saudi Arabias Vision 2030.

So from what I understand, the original deal was for only one show per year (despite running two a year) and this makes it official that they'll be running two shows a year.

There was a meeting at about 3 p.m. today at NYCB Live with Vince McMahon and the Raw crew. We don't have details of what transpired at this time but these are some things we've been told. The company blamed talent speculation for causing a problem, the talent was told the flight issues were all mechanical and nothing more, and Seth Rollins attempted to do a rah-rah speech while telling people to keep things like this off social media in the future.
