I also wouldn't base a pick off the first minute of a game anyway. I picked Carolina as a "Lock" in that Thursday game where they had a lesser quarterback. Either way it's up to him. I'm wasting too much time on something this trivial. I think it strikes a nerve to see my integrity questioned in general. Calling it late is one thing. Okay, so here's the deal. This will be lengthy but I just want to be fully transparent on this, and I get paranoid that someone might think me dishonest so I just want to get it all out there. There were 3 people who picked the carolina/tampa game after 930 am est. Each of those 3 people picked carolina. 2 of them were within 10 minutes, 1 was a couple hours into the game.
I realize that in my opening post, I did not specify that the london game was played early and in fact listed the game under the 1 PM column. That is my fault. I also realize that even though I later clarified that the game was at 9:30 am, that most users would have no reason to come back to the topic for any reason other than changing picks, so I don't think it is fair of me to go "Well I did clarify later on" when odds are most people didn't even see it. My hangup lies in the pick that was made hours after the game started, which essentially means I have no way of knowing if said user saw the game progress or not when they made the pick (I am making no accusation by saying this, merely stating a fact that I cannot know what happened.) So my choices are thus: 1) Allow all 3 carolina picks as it was my own fault that I did not be clear with the correct time in the opening post 2) Allow the 2 picks that were made close to the game start and disallow the one that was made much later, when the outcome was not very much in doubt 3) Disallow all the late picks because they are late To me, 3 is not an option as it was ultimately my own fault for not being clear on the correct game start time, and it's just as likely that the super-late picker woke up and was like "okay time to pick all the 1 PM games." 2 does not feel very fair to allow 2 picks and disallow 1 pick, because regardless of the timeframe they were picked in, all 3 picks are still "late" so I feel like equal treatment should be given on all picks. Therefore, for this week only, I have decided to grant the correct pick to the users who picked late because ultimately I feel it is better to err on the side of caution when considering how much my slip up may have caused errors. If anyone has any reason why they think they shouldn't be allowed, please PM me as I don't want anyone who may feel strongly to say something, and then one of the pickers take offense or anything. Hopefully though, this will just be as simple as they get a win, and everyone goes about their day. --- I'm a greener egg than the eggs from dr. seuss ... Copied to Clipboard!
