as a black american, I've been to 5 different countries and have been treated way better than anywhere in the USA. However, I still get to hear some dumbass tell me how great America is to black people and how scary insert___Russia or something is lmao.

Have you been to Russia though? I traveled there with a black gentleman a few times and I felt uncomfortable as hell, people coming up and making jokes about basketball and wanting to take selfies and shit.

But yeah as a white person I feel disturbed by the level of racist and sexist bigotry I see on a fairly regular basis.

Idk what part of Russia you were in? Moscow is different than some place on the arctic ocean lol. There are literally counties a quick driving distance from me that are 99% white because they were former sundown counties in the past.

Bit unfair to imply they're all like that.

That said the actual racists are either in denial... or proudly racist.

It's hard living in the south where people actually think it isn't embarrassing to be seen with the Confederate flag. Though I suppose I should be thankful I'm not someplace like Alabama....
