Board 8 > Name a BOSS in a VIDEO GAME you had to try MULTIPLE TIMES to Beat????

I'm sure there's been some hard bosses in games, mainly rpg's, where there was a stubborn boss you had to try 2 or 3 times..or even TEN times to beat...which one that did you in?..

In Super Ghouls' n Ghosts, near the end of the second playthrough, I gave up on trying to beat with the boss right before Sardius where it requires you to use the Goddess Bracelet. It seems like it SHOULDN'T be that hard, but I could never avoid the flames and lasers 100% of the time. I can't tell you how many attempts I made, and I even made use of the SNES Classic savestates at the START of each level only. Making use of savestates this way is essentially like playing the SNES version without ever turning the game off. The level leading up to the boss is brutal, too.

I probably need to attempt to beat the game on Easy first rather than Normal, for starters. Either that or I need to abuse saves states like crazy! (but that is flat out cheating)

Nemesis in the Clock Tower courtyard, damn that boss so much. And come to think of it, the boss fight in the Dead Factory with the acid nozzles can drop dead too.

Most recent example is Sigrun, but that was tremendous fun.
The final boss of Sonic 3 and Knuckles literally took me about a decade. I didn't beat that game properly until I got the Mega Collection on PS2.
Tyrant in the Plane in RE Code Veronica I was totally unprepared for and had to go back a couple of hours to save up a good amount of ammo in order to beat him.

Took about 3 hours I think for me? I wasn't too annoyed though because he was easily my most favorite designed boss in the game.

Every other boss didn't take me nearly as long.

Several bosses in Soulsborne on first playthroughs. The only one that still takes me a million tries is Orphan of Kos.

If we're talking non-optional bosses, Seymour Flux in FFX is the first thing that came to mind for me.

Sword Saint Isshin in Sekiro took me like two weeks to beat. The difficulty of that fight compared to the rest of that game is just incredible.

There is a secret boss in CONTROL that took me around seven tries to beat.

The big example I can think of is the Nameless King in Dark Souls 3.
Spent at least 3 hours of trying to win that fight.

The examples I can think of involve RPGs where I was able to come back and beat them later, often handily. (Most recently: Colonel Zarpedon.)

I can't think of any bosses off the top of my head, but I can think of levels.

The Chicago level in Perfect Dark with the alarms on any advanced difficulty setting. I dearly wanted to get through the game on the hardest difficulties, but this map took me down in the first minute every time.

The Spider-Man: The Movie video game with higher difficulty settings trying to swing past Green Goblin's pumpkin drones and skylights without setting off any alarms.

Cloud of Darkness legit stomped my playthrough progress of all the FF's. I actually never beat it and thus haven't completed that game.
