I'm sure there's been some hard bosses in games, mainly rpg's, where there was a stubborn boss you had to try 2 or 3 times..or even TEN times to beat...which one that did you in?

final battle in ff7. was stuck on it for like a year. but when I finally won, the fight lasted like half an hour, which is the longest turn based rpg battle of my life. and it was pretty cool when I won

Fume Knight from one of the DLC expansions for Dark Souls 2. Easily the single hardest boss in that game, if not in all of Dark Souls.

to this day i haven't even seen the ending yet and i was even aiming for the longest(supposedly best) ending.

For some reason the Corrupted Monk (Illusion) boss in Sekiro was just a brick wall for me for months. I just stopped playing the game up until recently. I would come back, try a few times, fail all those times, give it up again and set the game aside once more. I finally bossed up and beat it this week.

And the bitch only has one life bar?? When I came back to it and beat it with ease I had to wonder what the fuck my problem was before. Its not like her attacks are all that difficult to read. And you use a couple Divine Incense and its ovaaa before it began.

Took me like 3-4 hours of constant trying. A lot of it was learning how to bait him into using certain attacks that leave openings

Same. I probably have more attempts on her than on any other boss in any other game. So satisfying when you win, though.

DS1, DS3, and Bloodborne have many many bosses that have taken many many tries. DS2 has a few. Fuck Darklurker, Fume Knight, Gank Squad, and Blue Smelter Demon.

Gave up on Lud and Zallen in DS2, though a large part of the reason for that is the sheer amount of time it takes to get back to the boss arena from a death.

Gave up on Slave Knight Gael in DS3.

Haven't beaten Orphan of Kos yet in Bloodborne. Still trying every once in a while though.

The pirhana plant boss in Yoshis Island. I was 4 and couldn't hit that target at an angle.

It took me three hours to beat Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 3 on Genesis. WCW Master (a masked Andre the Giant) from WCW World Championship Wrestling on NES took even longer to beat.

I make it a point of always going back and beating bosses that got the better of me. I spent two hours trying to beat the bunny man race in Ocarina of Time on N64. After finding out that it was literally impossible to win, I just chucked bombs at him instead.

Actually, now that I think about it, there is one boss I never beat. Wizpig from Diddy Kong Racing. I still have my copy of that game. I really need to knuckle down and go back and beat him.

The final boss in Red Faction 2 is the most garbage final boss in gaming. You're stuck in a room with him and have to essentially follow him in circles while bunny-hopping at an angle or else he'll insta-kill you with his weapon.

I didn't quit, but it did take a lot longer than I wanted to use every character to beat Jinpachi in Tekken 5. It took what seemed like forever to beat him with Mokujin.

It's not that he's overly difficult, just as a new player, the tight area and the two dogs with him fucked me over and over and over and over and over...

i didnt want to deal with finding armor to prevent status effects. I really hate boss fight design that requires you have immunities towards its own mechanics. not to mention the supernova animation is so long that if you lose it's like 1 hour lost

frequently my entire party would turn into a frog and i was just screwed

Ruby Weapon in FF7. The wrong character kept getting pulled into the sand.

i was out and about this morning i see a legendary hunt. the thing killed me. how the fuck did it gain 3 forms. had to get iron bear and waste it before it got me. died a few times after that.

you have to dodge the puddle and straight strike really fucking unload.

Most bosses in Ninja Gaiden, Soulsborne, Sekiro, Dead Cells, etc.

But the only boss that truly made me quit a game was the boss run area near the end of original release Devil May Cry 3 where you have to fight all the bosses in the game up to that point with no checkpoint and I only had one healing item.

The only boss that made me quit a game and give up was one in ff13, don't remember the name of it and it's really hard to describe, I barely remember it. I think it was some pope looking dude who turned into a mech or something.

I gave up on beating the final boss of Rabi-Ribi chapter 10 on BEx difficulty without town member buffs, consumables, or the mid-fight checkpoint after trying for nearly a year off and on (probably close to 70 hours of attempts) and settled for beating it with no buffs and no checkpoint (which still took hours and ended with me literally one hit from death).

I also gave up on BEx difficulty Irisu SP's hardest version (there's a mid-fight difficulty selection where you use a bomb and destroy it to give her way more damage and defense) period, because holy mother of god she is completely impossible to dodge and likes to sneak in the Instant Death debuff when you aren't expecting it.
