I'm still not convinced HB is scum and worry we're mislynching him because he's not really playing the game rather than because he's dirty. I mean, if he flips scum I'll eat crow for all the shit I've been giving Chris and be glad to do it, but if he flips town then all we've done is waste D1 going down a railroad I've been trying to slow down. Nobody even really seems to want to LOOK at a different lynch, or to try and get much out of anybody. HB's already dead it feels like and we're just going thru the motions

I don't think you need to be a genius mastermind to do that tbh. That's just basic non-committal scumplay with a basic telegraph of who you actually want to vote if it comes to that so you can justify it later.

It's too basic, really, cause people can see through it. If he was a genius mastermind he would've realized how obviously scummy it makes him and really obscured his thought process behind more BARRIERZ.

Put suspicions in terms of Lopen and I don't know, Corrik or something.

Alright so like, what is the argument for HB being town? The lynch looking this set in stone is a bit odd, sure, but every time I think that I ask myself what would make HB town and I don't really see much. I kind of liked him very early on but that ended quickly. No one has really argued against the idea of him being scum so much as they've just made random comments about him being town or just argued against the idea of lynching him because he seemingly got caught so early.

I don't think there IS an argument for HB being town, just like I don't think there's an argument for IGCD or Sultan being town. "Not enough information" sums up all three of them. HB had some bad tonal stuff apparently and a small potential scum slip. That's not really enough to convict to me.

... And at the same time, that's all the information we really have AT ALL because it feels like I'm the only person who has even attempted to look anywhere else. Corrik decided to rando lynch Blade on a hunch and Chris's whole bloc stopped looking after their lord and savior decreed HB must die this day. Most of the rest of the game has been AFKers or Blade shit posting

IGCD and Sultan don't have good arguments for being town because there isn't a lot of content. It's not the same as HB.

HB actually has a lot of content to digest and a freshly previous game to compare to where the early game panned out very similarly and he reacted very differently. You could argue it's not MEANINGFUL content but content doesn't have to be meaningful to signal someone is scum.

So anyway I look at Popcorn Fairy's post at 368 and I see a few key points

Now, this is a very smart post for scum to make, particularly if Hb is scum, in terms of 4d chess. Here are the things it allows:

In a head to head it allows you to jump off onto Blade by default. Chris is strongly tied to the Hb lynch, so it's very easy to lateral off that and say "well I think Chris is scum so I'm going to vote for Blade"
In a head to head where Hb is way in front, you can jump off onto Hb to make yourself look better later.
You can also just stay on Chris if bussing feels too blatant and say "well I suspected Hb"

But yeah basically it allows too much movement on the existing lynch trains without actually committing to one. Unfortunately it's too good so someone with honed senses like myself will realize how scummy it is.

On the other points: Plum is the one person who had shown suspicion of Popcorn Fairy-- so it's a weak attempt to butter him up. Ulti is largely thought to be town and is a potentially confirmable role, so this is the illusion of insight on alignments that doesn't actually clear up. Firebolt I think is mostly just for internal consistency since someone will point out "hey what happened to your minor Firebolt push earlier"

But yeah it's just such a scummy post. I don't believe town makes that post at any point.

Woah. I'm flattered that you think so highly of me! But, unfortunately, I'm not on that level.

The biggest thing, is, you think I'm going to jump to Blade or HB. This is not the case. I'm committed to my vote on Chris. With my vote, I have given him a wedding ring, and it is until death do us part. Or the end of the day.

In addition, my suspicions of Blade and HB aren't as strong. I also said I don't think all three are scum, that I very much doubt I've hit the nail on the head. I would place it at Chris has my attention, Blade is much less so. I think he's suspicious, but I'm not completely sold. HB sitting calmly in the middle.

Plum gives me town vibes. Not because he voted me, but because I think he's town. I'm not trying to make myself look better to him, in fact, calling someone town to try and get them off your back is a silly idea to me. If he thinks I'm scum, he thinks I'm scum. I'm just giving my thoughts.

The reason I find that suspicious is that it puts an awful lot of faith in Ulti. Like what if he's lying and HB just gets lynched. Boy, would his face be red. Sure we could then lynch Ulti but like, HB should be pushing harder not to be the guinea pig, I think. It's just the +E.....the best strategy to either confirm Ulti or lynch someone you actually want to lynch. That's what His Highness, Sir Chris is doing. I'd also say even if you don't want this D1 Mayor strat you should play along to see what happens, because there's always another secret

This was a big one off the top of my head where I knew where it was.

But she's made a lot of good posts to contribute to the case on Hb, fire_bolt. I'm sorry you haven't really been reading the game very well and have been misrepresenting everything but such is what can happen if you're overly wrapped up in the workings of your own planet.

It's only been two topics though so I think you can do better. Send out some expeditions to neighboring worlds and see what the earthlings are actually talking about.
