How limited are seals? Should I avoid doing certification exams unless Im sure I want to use that class?

Dark Seals are limited. All other Seals are eventually buyable in unlimited quantities.

Still in Chapter 6 Free Time (last free time) but Operation Recruitment Drive went crazy well this month. Lysithea joined first. Then I picked up Shamir and Felix. Ingrid reached B Support which seemed to be the tipping point for Lysithea and Felix so I checked on her and she was like "nope not even interested lol" so I was about to write her off as a loss but then during the week on a random day it went "Ingrid wants to join!" and I was like "lmao."

Also reached Professor Rank B with some clutch fishing (the clutch was those shops from the Chapter 5 quest giving me a bait store) was 95 Professor EXP short on the second-to-last free day (the last one I really played) but fish pushed me over the edge. all these points i'm on a roll.

I'll really laugh if I can pull another recruit with this last free day. I'll have like half the school at that point. >_>

The possible key to this operation? I blew all my cash on the first free day of the month buying all the gifts from the merchants and then distributed them. Honestly, if I get Marianne that's literally all my initial recruit targets. Don't know if I should move on and try to pick up like Ashe, Sylvain, and whoever or spend those points elsewhere and try to raise skill levels or something with training. It's not like I could deploy all these guys lol, I already can't!

Well, you also need to know who likes what gifts in order to maximize the points you get, which becomes more difficult once you choose a house because you can't look at their profiles anymore.

Just out of curiosity, whats the chapter cutoff for recruitment? Id like to know how much time I have left to try and get the units I want.

I suppose it's possible that it varies by House, but for me, it was chapter 12.

Yeah, it was kinda nuts. I started the month with zero recruits and the thinking that this would be a long, arduous process. Then the month happened and it was like "nope lol!"

FWIW, my process has been on every Explore day I basically cook meals with all my points (Well, I do the tournament once and if there's a special event going on I might throw a point or two that way) and I invite all the people I want to recruit to it (and anyone in my house who needs motivation.) Don't know if it matters, but I make sure it's a meal they like (blue arrow on their portrait) too. Then gifts too, yeah, lol. Advice box too, but that's random, but it did push Felix to B support when I thought I'd need another week to try, that was lucky.

The key, at least for me, seems to be support level rather than actually having the stats they want. Everyone except Shamir joined once they hit B support after rejecting me at C support. Shamir seems to just be a flat level check, specifically Level 15. She turned me down at Level 14 but accepted when Byleth was Level 15 and level is the only stat she values.

Yeah, I've mostly been doing the same regards to cooking. That's how I spend most of my time. I have whiffed on almost every suggestion box so far though lol.

I'll just have to up my gift game over the next few sessions and the recruits will probably start coming.

You need to have very high skill levels to recruit characters with those on the first playthrough. Going with Support B is the better option for almost all of them. It's easy to recruit allies with skill levels on NG+ though.

At this point, I'm just using Explore to trigger Support convos with other characters by sharing meals they like together.

I've largely ignored the adults but now that I'm maxing out the students, I guess I can start working on them.

Also, I haven't bothered changing anyone's goals until now, so a lot of my characters can't upgrade to a better class so 'whoops'

I did get Ashe to max out the Bow skill though so that was cool

I have Petra as a Thief currently. It wasn't my original plan, but I wanted to at least have one just in case and she fit the role (also she asked for her goals to be that so I was like "yeah sure")

Not sure if it's just a stop-gap for now until I find a better person for the job but it's worked so far.

I was gonna go down the swordmaster route with her (is there a canonical master class associated with swordmaster?), but yeah, she seems like the most appropriate Black Eagle for the role.

Mortal Savant, but from what I've heard Mortal Savant's a bad class. Falcon Knight probably better.

Mortal Savant is fine, although not ideal. Felix still wrecks stuff and now he has magic, although I miss his higher evasion rate.

I went with Falcon Knight for Petra and made Lysithea a Mortal Savant. The extra movement for Mortal Savant over Gremory is nice. I've been thinking of giving Lysithea a Levin Sword+ but I just haven't run into any scenarios where I need to do that. Petra has been doing really well as a Falcon Knight. The ability to snipe key targets over a wall is really useful.

Lorenz's Paralogue gives a staff with +2 Range for magic. When Lysithea has that she doesn't really need movement, heh.

Yeah, the one thing that kills me with Annette is that she's a powerful magic user, but her movement is so limited as a Warlock that she rarely ends up attacking more than one round in a battle.

Also, I finished the first video of the DGS2-3 LP. They've certainly set up a very interesting premise. I like the defendant here so far. He's quirky in that classic Ace Attorney way, and he has a catchy theme.

When should I stay in a class to master it if I have more advanced classes available?

Seems like you level from 5 to 10 a lot faster than you master the beginner classes

I've been using the rewind a bit to undo particularly bad level ups for Byleth/Edelgard (of course, you then have to stop using them for the rest of the battle which can be annoying)

Dimitri has been an absolute monster for me the entire game. Easily my best unit.

I think Byleth is definitely my best. Edelgard is still fine too, but Ive lost count of the number of level ups shes had with only two boosts.

Sounds like Lonato was planning on assassinating Rhea. Rhea continues to seem pretty obviously evil.

FE3H Black Eagles Chapter 6 done.

Free Time: Shorter version since I talked about my recruitment stuff already. A quick chat with everyone quickly leads us to the conclusion that Jeritza is suspicious as hell. Obviously so since we can't return Lost Items to him or build support with him. Which means you're on the list too Tomas - though I will thank you for giving me the curious information that Jeralt apparently hasn't aged in appearance in 20 years. uh oh are we vampires. we're totally vampires. But examining the path that leads to his room tells me it'll auto-end the month so Byleth decides to just leave Flayn hanging for an entire month because it would get in the way of fighting and socializing. Does anything change if you initiate it this way rather than wait under the end of the month? Marianne did reach B support on that last free day but still hasn't joined. Leonie (and Ferdinand) need time to pass for their B supports to be available. On the day I battled I fought another monster. Weird that those things just wander around!

Mission: On the last day of the month we're automatically sent to Jeritza's room and oh Manuela is knocked out. Also there's a secret passage. Hanneman steals Edelgard from us saying he needs her help to bring Manuela to the infirmary. yo just call for help bro don't make one of my top units unavailable for the mission. ...take ferdinand instead.

Death Knight abruptly makes his presence known in the secret passage and it's time for Round 2. The warping made this a weird fight for me, deployment-wise. The best way I can explain is that the group mostly headed the "long" way but I'd detach pairs to investigate warps. Caspar and Linhardt took the one at the start zone and worked their way up towards the super warp room, later Felix and Hubert warped directly into it. Nothing important to say here really, I had to Divine Pulse back like 10 turns because I realized I made a strategic error. I had sent Petra off on her own to the chests to save on Chest Keys since she's a Thief but realized too late she couldn't do that AND return to the group in time to steal the Magic Staff off the guy in Death Knight's room. It might have been possible if she had equipped the March Ring she found but I stupidly sent it to Convoy. Reversed time, gave Ingrid and her Pegasus two chest keys to be safe because I wanted to have Divine Pulse on hand in case Death Knight scored a crit since he ranges from like a 10-25% chance on everyone and that's an instakill on anyone.

Finished him off with Byleth and his Training Sword again to match Round 1. He acted like he could still take us but the Flame Emperor shows up and tells him to go so he does. Flayn joins the class and this month is time for Mock Battle 2: Mock Harder. Oh also the girl with Flayn, who I only know as Monica now, has rejoined the Black Eagles, she was a student who disappeared last year and wait did Jeritza keep her locked up there a whole year? That is massively creepy. I see on the map I also have two Paralogue battles available - Ingrid/Dorothea and Shamir/Alois. Also Jeralt triggered every death flag he could. But little did he know it was an unnecessary, he triggered the biggest of all by being a dad in Fire Emblem.

I'm pretty sure you always have the option to skip a week or skip to the end of the month. The game just automatically allocates your points for you.
