Delaware isn't the Midwest. Pennsylvania really isn't either but even supposing it was, Biden hasn't lived there in like 50 years. Hillary was born in the Midwest too, and also moved away.

Nrr you should be more optimistic and see the virtue in people. Anyone can campaign on racism or xenophobia or whatnot but it hasn't worked in decades. Trump saw the virtue in people who felt ignored and they voted for him. The left should be capable of seeing the good in people even if the center of the Democratic Party is completely lost.

I will say this though, red sox is sort of right about the fact that the GOP at large actually better at understanding politics, and one reason why the DNC and he democratic leadership needs to be totally overhauled. The GOP understands that in a system where the parties are divided on an ideological basis, there is no benefit to working with the other party, and a significant benefit to delivering on your promises. Why? Because if you stop their progress, they get blamed no matter what. There are no other parties to turn to, so those who are unhappy will vote for a change even if your party is the one who stopped them.

This is a major flaw in our government that has to be fixed, but won't. The founders didn't envision Congress seeing itself as party based ideologues, they thought they would be entirely rich white landowning men of the same class who would act as a check on the other two branches, primarily seeing themselves as congressmen instead of Republicans.

The Democratic leadership hasn't caught up to the fact that they are supposed to be representing the left wing ideology. They actually fight back to show how much they don't represent that. So instead, how do people see them? The way people used to understand parties prior to the southern strategy, as a collection of interest groups and geographic locations. They are the city Yankee, the Hollywood actor, the godless heathens and weirdos who make you feel uncomfortable and looked down upon for your simple small town existence. They don't see it as the party of the worker, the party of the proletaria-nyan class. That is what must be done, and that's what seperates Bernie. The pushback AOC and Bernie get from the party is because the people in charge don't wanna be the party for bartenders, they wanna be the party for narcissistic rich guys who wanna seem woke fighting the narcissistic rich guys who don't. But that isn't the fight they showed up to! It's left vs right and the right wins until the left shows up.

Would agree generally with this but the Democratic Congresswomen are probably actually quite happy with this development. It raises their public profile dramatically that the president considers them to be leaders in the Democratic Party.
