The more Democrats talk about impeachment based on things the country is not ready to impeach for, the more room they give Trump to push the envelope. They lose credibility when they talk about impeachment and don't do it. And if they did it, it would result in exoneration so they would also lose credibility. So what should they do? Don't talk about impeachment publicly until there is a 2/3 majority in the Senate to convict. But she looks at her party, and she doesn't see anyone able to take over. The only one of them with any political talent is AOC and she's only been in Congress for 6 months. Long term, it's good for AOC to spar a bit with Pelosi. The United States can't speak except through a natural person, so generally it speaks through its president, much like corporations speak through their boards of directors or CEOs. I suppose the problem is if the new lawyers request extensions of deadlines because they just got into the case. If the old lawyers quit, it would be reasonable to grant the extensions, since it's not the client's fault. But if the client fired the old lawyers and replaced them with new ones who needed a lot of time to get up to speed on the case, then it's really on the client for doing that and he shouldn't be given extensions to accomodate his choice to change representation when by all reasonable measures there was nothing wrong with his previous attorneys. If the client wants to delay the case to gain an advantage, which Trump is probably a grandmaster at (and brazen enough to claim that the US government needs 6 months to print forms and then immediately go back on that a day or two after the super urgent deadline), changing lawyers and then demanding extensions is a way of doing that.
