Lol, i'm fine with taxing the wealthy, who have been wealthy for generations and possibly even owned slaves etc for this, but not the general public, your just hurting the poor (of all races) if you do.

Want to make reparations? Fine, tax anyone making over 1 mill a year an extra 2%, and have that go into a reperations fund. How you are going to determine who deserves the money though is beyond me.

I think it just makes sense to use that money to help low income families across the board, and perhaps fund free schooling or health care etc.

Slavery was instituted and used by the rich, so yeah, if anyone has to pay for it, it should be them. Don't your current day wage slaves pay for actual slavery in the past.

I am so done with politics, I may not even vote this time. I keep wanting to jump back in, and then people get so negative and I just see how the two party system sucks and nothing we do makes a difference.

I'll probably vote, I have every time I have been able so far, but god, I hate politics at this point. I don't watch the news, and won't watch any debates etc. I am totally burnt out at this point.

Seriously wish everyone would just work together to make life easier/better for the majority of people in this world, not just this country. Focus on making life good for everyone, and it'll be good for you as well.

Yes, that sounds like socialism, but it doesn't have to be, it could just be actual common freaking sense and working as a race to make the world a better place. You can still have individual goals, jobs, careers, and rates of pay etc, but a basic living wage for everyone, jobs available (which you can choose between) for everyone, and places to rent/live at a reasonable rate, should be a bare minimum.

NOT taking advantage of your fellow citizens and milking them for tons of money so they can get trained for a job, not bankrupting people who have worked their whole lives because they get sick and their insurance won't pay for all the medical bills (due to it being for profit and insanely expensive to get anything done), not throwing people in prison and keeping them there because it makes you more money.

How is any of that considering ok? Why is that a part of our country. It boggles my mind, but even arguing that to almost half of americans spawn a huge debate and anger and finger pointing etc. It should be common sense, nobody should end up in debt for life because they want to get a job in a field that requires an education/training. Mention that and people will say "well, you could have worked while going to school (many do, they spend that money on....LIVING..while going to school).

The two party system makes the other party always want the current one in office to fail, have a bad presidency etc, as it makes it more likely for them to get in power the next time. This leads to almost nothing positive ever getting done. Then you have the rich and the powerful corporations who have a ton of control and power, that prevents many things (like switching to electric or at least all hybrid cars) from taking place, even if it's a serious problem.

I just don't get it, I can't make a difference (and yes, I did try in the past), and I don't see any solution.
