I haven't ever heard of it being downplayed necessarily. But I have heard many people say they never tried it because of the art style.

Good games with some dumb flaws, namely bad drop rates in 2 and no good storage in the series. Uvhm in 2 was also a huge chore with how damage spongey enemies are.

At least the legendary drops were tied to specific enemies. Though getting a cobra to drop is a miracle. World drops in 1 and pre sequel sucked, though at least pre sequel had the grinder.

I will definitely agree on uvhm though. So glad they are doing away with slag for 3.

I really enjoyed it but do feel the higher difficulties become more tedious work than fun.

Same. I found it a nuisance to have to debuff almost everything before I use my regular weapons just so I don't find myself needing to reload multiple times for just one enemy.

The only character I could stand taking into uvhm was axton because of slag basically being mandatory.

and there are these stupid numbers that appear when you shoot enemies

1 had better drop rates and better places to get loot. You could do chest runs in (new haven?) and get oranges. While it was nice that they gave us places to farm for things you wanted in 2, I'd rather have the first one's drop rates and random loot all over, than the awful rates that 2 had. I used cheat engine in two and it showed the base drop rates and they were so damn low.

Give me 2's specific drop zones and 1's better drop rates and I'd be happy. Pearls should be the only things that are hard to get consistently.

This gen? It hasn't had an actual entry this gen yet until 3 comes out.

The loot system is outdated and frustrating especially in co-op, have fun with your friends taking the only Legendary drop. Very little in the way of storage too.

it's not that funny unless you're 12 years old.

I like the games alot believe me, I'm currently making my way through UVHM with a Commando but the games have issues.

And almost nobody downplays them, they're universally acclaimed.

In 3, I believe, it's been stated that loot will drop for each player, so that should solve only one orange/pearl dropping.

they nerfed the shit out of it eventually.

you could do the claptrap dlc, though, and farm about 20 red chests though over and over. you couldn't get pearls, but you could get anarchy hellfires, and mashers, which is literally the only thing in the game you needed

I usually did Knoxx Armory, or Craw. No fast travel stations in the dlcs did make things annoying though.

Yeah I know, but its' something that should have been added to 2 and 1 in the remasters.

Another complaint I just remembered is the amount of walking you have to do, I think most of the time I do more walking or driving than I do shooting things.

They are indeed very solid games, though prone to some pretty bad power creep/balance issues in the higher difficulties and not particularly well-designed for more organic approaches to farming loot (quitting to the main menu and reloading the game just isn't fun gameplay).

destiny 2 still sees around 3 million unique players a day, and destiny 1 still has around 400,000 across all platforms, even legacy.
