Lightsabers can no longer dismember people.
The hint was already there in episode 7 when Finn took a lightsaber to the back and is fine a bit later. The. It was either Rey or Kylo took it to the face and got just a scratch.

Now we know 100% it is true since new star wars game is confirmed to no dismemberment.

Lucas should have never sold it.

SW wasn't so great under Lucas.

the only good one that he directed was ANH, and RotS was alright, but that's about it.

Just accept that Disney has made crap for a long time now. Star wars is no exception. Just remember that Disney is a name. nothing more. A name with capitalistic power. And massive influence with media

TLJ did more to ruin it than lightsabers being nerfed. Nobody should have had any faith in Disney anyway.

Lucas lightsaber

Can cut through anything but another lightsaber.

Disney lasersword

Deals extra damage to robots, terrain and buildings.
Can only superficially wound bilogical life.

Episode 7

It knocks him out instead of kills him.

Ironically I watched a video analyzing the trash portrayal of lightsabers in 7 and 8 before I read the news of banned dismemberment in new game.

Finn getting tagged in the back and Kylo getting tagged in the face were clearly just glancing blows with the tip so why would they be dismembered?

And this isn't even the first game without dismemberment, both The Force Unleashed games didn't have it.

The other examples you gave were glancing blows that didn't pierce or penetrate, not unlike in Empire Strikes Back when Luke bopped Vader on the shoulder.

To be fair, if the argument is that Disney has neutered the weapon, pointing out that they go out of their way to make every hit a glancing blow doesn't exactly counter his point. They are still the ones doing the choreography.

And this is not because disney didn't want a human dismembered by a saber?

This isn't what you were bitching about at the start of this topic. You were implying that Finn should have been dismembered by that blow. It clearly shows that it barely clipped him, and immediately put him out of commission to the point where he doesn't wake up until the next movie. That's not "a bit later" like you imply.

He's below Kylo's notice at that point, no longer a threat, and Kylo's much more focused on the saber that he so desperately wants.

This isn't hard.

I noticed you didn't bother to address the fact that dismemberment isn't really all that common in Star Wars games, even in the Lucas era. Hmmmm.

Nah, it's not. Your initial post says nothing of choreography and you didn't bring that up until people started pointing out that two of your examples should not have dismembered to begin with.

You can't even remember that Snoke was cut in half, though, so you really have no idea what you're talking about.
