So... youve never played any Star Wars games, huh?

Or... seen gameplay of other Star Wars games.

I mean, Jedi Academy is beloved to this day almost entirely because of its lightsaber combat and dismemberment.

Yeah but its not the only Star Wars game with lightsabers in it, now is it?

The first 6 Star Wars movies feature dismemberment, of either organic or artificial limbs. Rob Coleman discusses this in the Attack of the Clones commentary track ("Yet another in the series of Star Wars severed limbs. I've actually tried to talk to George about the whole reason for the severed limbs in these movies and he always just sort of smiles and chuckles and never gives me the real answer.") and when asked by Vanity Fair about the dismemberments, George Lucas answered: "That's what happens when you play with swords."

George knew what was up.

People remember that the default state of these games only had the odd enemy losing a hand or arm right?

Finn got cut so badly it undid an entire movie's worth of character development.

LMAO did you actually just link to the Legends page for dismemberment?

You realize that's specifically for non-canon material? Of course you don't, you can't even remember that Snoke was cut in half or that most Lucas games didn't have dismemberment.

Yeah Warner Bros sure did a great job with bringing back popular DC heroes, making the Hobbit prequel trilogy and the Fantastic Beast prequels. Perfect. Those were all bigger than ever.

Obviously not. But everything else on the page is, and those six entries should be on the canon side.

Regardless, your argument is shit.

Ironically that page literally lists them all from the canon 6 movies:

The first 6 Star Wars movies feature dismemberment, of either organic or artificial limbs. Rob Coleman discusses this in the Attack of the Clones commentary track ("Yet another in the series of Star Wars severed limbs. I've actually tried to talk to George about the whole reason for the severed limbs in these movies and he always just sort of smiles and chuckles and never gives me the real answer.") and when asked by Vanity Fair about the dismemberments, George Lucas answered: "That's what happens when you play with swords."

The Phantom Menace: Obi-Wan Kenobi cuts Darth Maul in half after Maul kills Qui-Gon Jinn in the Theed Powerplant.
Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones: Obi-Wan Kenobi cuts Zam Wesell's hand and an Acklay's leg off, Dooku cuts off Anakin Skywalker's right forearm. Mace Windu decapitates Jango Fett, in the stadium battle.
Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith: Anakin severs Dooku's hands (Then he decapitates him) and Mace Windu's hand, Yoda severs a clone trooper's arm outside the Jedi Temple, Obi-Wan cuts off two of Grievous' cybernetic hands and, during the Duel on Mustafar, Anakin's legs and remaining (organic) arm.
Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope: C-3PO briefly loses an arm during a Tusken Raider attack, Obi-Wan slices off Ponda Baba's arm.
Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back: A Wampa loses an arm to Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, C-3PO is completely dismembered on Bespin, Darth Vader cuts off Luke's right hand.
Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi: Luke cuts through Darth Vader's cybernetic right arm.

there was 1 lightsaber dismemberment per movie in the OT, 2 of those being a hand. And you think it's Disney who "ruined lightsabers" because you have no joy in your life and bitching is as close as you can get to happiness.

Just want to point out that robot enemies in Jedi Fallen Order will have dismemberment (since you're listing robots). It's the generic human enemies that don't.

Pretty sure they implied there could be dismemberment during scripted moments.

This.

Also the Disney films have a lot of impalements rather than dismemberments, particularly in the Throne Room fight, which has maybe the most brutal death in Star Wars from about 2:28 to 2:35. Dude gets impaled then thrown into a thing that just instantly gibs him completely.

There's also a beheading at 2:53, so much for TC's claims! The moment at 3:36 or so is also super brutal despite not being a dismemberment. It's almost like lightsabers can stab rather than just slash!
