free-roaming pokemon in MASSIVE open terrain that looks more like Breath of the Wild than Pokemon. absolutely huge.

there are beacons across this terrain that summon giant mega pokemon for groups of 4 to fight together?

you can use a special poke ball to make your normal pokemon fucking huge (like the size of a 3 story building) to fight these giant wild pokemon then catch them with a giant poke ball thats maybe the size of a volleyball

you can then use these giant pokemon in a stadium battle

Gossifleur is the new flower pokemon, it has a healing pollen

Gossifleur evolves into Eldegoss which is a giant cotton ball. it has seeds on its head that heal. wowzers.

Drednaw is a big looking turtle thing that bites, it is an asshole

Corviknight is the Raven pokemon and he definitely fucks. he is a living taxi that takes you back to town so i guess hes the replacement for Charizard Fly

Dynamaxing sounds like illegal drug use but it is actually the verb used to describe making your pokemon 2big

The Dynamax button just looks like the Mega Evolve button. got to see a bit of UI here.

can be used once per battle, but after 3 turns they become tiny again.

the beacons you find will connect you to other players online and you can participate in a max raid battle to fight wild Dynamox pokemon that dont ever turn small

only ONE player on the team can Dynamax their pokemon once in this fight, so you can fuck it up with bad timing and teamwork

it looks like a ton of pokemon (normal ones) can be fought in max raid battles, and you need to beat these max pokemon before you find regular ones in the wild

you might be able to do max raid battles locally? i think i missed this bit, but it also has online

Not DYNAMAXING would certainly make the game more challenging most likely. It would be cool if they had a Hard mode again, but available at the very start. Surprised we didnt get an early rodent reveal

i think they both look lame as fuck, i know everyone harps on "overdesigned" late-gen pokemon but jesus these guys have like a million and one things going on

but "wolf with sword" or better yet "sword with wolf" is a badass idea at its core so i cant completely hate them

I don't know how I feel about Dynamaxing yet but the rest is cool. When I saw the map I was kind of expecting the Wild Area to be a thing and that it might be the only big open area in the game while the rest of the region is the same as always, but it's still pretty cool.

Turtle dinosaur is neat
Raven taxi is cool
Flower/Cotton thing is a random Grass mon

SHIELD WOLF > SWORD WOLF

One thing that stood out to me is that it might take some getting used to seeing new Pokemon revealed with these graphics and art style. It almost felt like I was watching a video from some other game series, but I'll come to adjust of course.

Also does the Champion of Galar use a fucking Charizard as his ace? Oh come on, lol.
