AOC quit her job at the coffee shop on the spot in 2015 because of the alleged sexism she and other servers experienced. Ryan Grim, a reporter of We got the People spoke with various colleagues of Alexandria who all confirmed that a "culture of persistent and overt objectification" existed at the Union Square establishment That coffee shop was known for its questionable hiring methods for "aspiring models" and even had a separate section in the basement geared towards "members only" Grim says a manager requested all servers line up against the wall so they can be RANKED by how hot they were and then give the servers tables off on how how they were. Ocasio WON that contest and immediately STORMED OUT out of the establishment and quit on the spot She only returned after management "pleaded" for her return and promised that no other "contests" would be held again. Her former co-workers said she was "different" from the others and said she was working toward something different and was a feminist among the employees The coffee shop closed last year and she stopped by to say "hi" one last time and be a kid around the friends she made there.
