The Archbishop of Irbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, has accused Britain's Christian leaders of failing to do enough in defence of the vanishing Christian community in Iraq.

Since the US-led invasion toppled the regime of Saddam Hussein in 2003, he said, the Christian community had dwindled by 83%, from around 1.5 million to just 250,000.

The archbishop went on to accuse Britain's Christian leaders of "political correctness" over the issue - he called the failure to condemn extremism "a cancer", saying they were not speaking out loudly enough for fear of being accused of Islamophobia.

"Will you continue to condone this never-ending, organised persecution against us?" he said. "When the next wave of violence begins to hit us, will anyone on your campuses hold demonstrations and carry signs that say 'We are all Christians'?"

His views on political correctness are shared in part by the Bishop of Truro, the Rt Rev Philip Mounstephen, who chairs the Independent Review into the Foreign Office's response to the persecution of Christians worldwide.

"I think the archbishop is right that a culture of 'political correctness' has prevented Western voices from speaking out about the persecution of Christians," he says. "I think though this is mainly to do with a reluctance borne of post-colonial guilt."

Bishop Mounstephen maintains that Christian persecution needs to be viewed from a global perspective and has multiple causes.

"If we only consider it in the light of Islamic militancy," he says, "we let a lot of other people off the hook who should otherwise be held to account."

Archbishop Warda has reached a bitter conclusion about what the future holds.

"Friends, we may be facing our end in the land of our ancestors. We acknowledge this. In our end, the entire world faces a moment of truth.

"Will a peaceful and innocent people be allowed to be persecuted and eliminated because of their faith? And, for the sake of not wanting to speak the truth to the persecutors, will the world be complicit in our elimination?"

In the SJW ranking system, Muslims are more victimized than Christians. So anytime a conflict comes between them, SJWs take the Muslim side . But the problem is they are judging by Western standards that don't apply over there

1. Most middle eastern Christians are the same race as the Muslims. These aren't white people

2. They are a massive minority

3. They are being oppressed and in some places murdered

Im Coptic. My parents and their family mostly fled Egypt because of the persecution they faced in the country. Being spit on in the streets, being failed in class for wearing a cross, having opportunities denied because of their faith, etc.

They all voted Trump even though they disliked him, because they were terrified of the democrats bond with the Muslim Brotherhood. My mom used to love Obama until he invited them to the White House and supported Morsi.

This. Posters have shit on me for defending Islam I say this to emphasize that I frequently do it on these boards but I dont support terrorism or extremists who kill or persecute Christians for being Christians. It is against the Quran so I dont consider anyone murdering or persecuting Christians to be a faithful Muslim.

If the Christian Church leaders are too scared to speak up about it, thats on them for not being strong believers. But it shouldnt just be on them. Leaders in the Ummah (Muslim community) should be doing the same as Christians are People of the Book.

We are. Sweden has taken in +120k Assyrians alone from the Middle-East.

The belief that all immigrants in Sweden are Muslim is way off. However, our new immigration laws (instated in 2015) affect all immigrants and refugees.

S/he's saying that it is unfair to blame Islam because terrorists would be terrorists doing terrorist related things in the Middle East regardless of what religion was the one that took root there.

And it IS more than just the terrorists. If anyone bothers to read the link I posted earlier, it explains that the Muslim neighbors of the christians ended up secretly sympathizing with ISIS and if not actively hurting the christians themselves, they stood by and did nothing to stop it

Articles like the one posted in this topic are very fake news made up to spread the flames of Islamophobia in America when in actuality there is very little religious persecution in Muslim majority countries. Islam is very accepting of and tolerant of other religions.
People need to educate themselves on what Islam really is like I have and they will see how beautiful and tolerant it really is.
