Was checking my junk mail folder earlier and discovered that some idiot is trying to blackmail me with a recorded video or supposed video of me masturbating apparently he is going to send it to my contacts if i dont pay him $2,400 in bitcoin jokes on him though im actually poor and it would be like getting blood out of a stone.

Has anyone else gotten these demands?

No but I've heard of them before.

I'd laugh considering how impossible that'd be if I got one tbh. Then again I don't really check my mail unless I'm expecting something and mass delete things so maybe i have and haven't realized it. x3

For everything I've ever heard it's just a huge scam.

Jim Cornette did. He mentioned it on one of his podcasts.

As has been pointed out, it's kind of a stupid scam. Anyone tech-ignorant enough to fall for it isn't going to be capable of paying a ransom in bitcoin, and anyone who knows how to buy and send bitcoin isn't going to fall for the scam.
