It was more like, Brad said he remembered hearing someone say something bad about Control at a convention or press event, and Jeff said they were fucking wrong.

Got to the Control boss Vinny was complaining about on the Beastcast.

If this wasn't optional I would be quitting the game right here.

The Anchor? It can be an annoying fight for sure, though leveling up Launch really helps there.

I just keep falling off.

I really hate how they handle levitation controls. Like...a lot....

The rest of the fight is nothing. The bottomless pit is the problem. Plus the delay on every single action because of how poorly the game runs on PS4 is not helping the accidentally falling down thing.

The Former is a worse boss fight, also optional, and my least favorite part of the game

I beat Quantum Break last night.

No spoilers please, but there is a portion of the game where characters repeatedly talk and emphasis the word control to a strange degree.

We need CONTROL. must have CONTROL. We have to maintain CONTROL.

Also fun fact, you can find a signed Alan Wake (the author) book signed by Alan Wake.

Abby pushed back, calling it toothless and there is something to that. It was the game that everybody could agree on. When people did the average of all the staff lists it still came out on top, and the overall list was nearly identical. It is an excellent game without many blatant issues or opponents so it's fine - PUBG is the only GOTY winner that sticks out as just bizarre.

However, when you look at their GOTY winners from 2008 to 2014 there is a clear shift. Every one of those was a very common pick among outlets and the more traditional "prestige" single player experiences that often win GOTY awards. Then with Mario Maker they shifted to games that were uncommon picks, much less of those traditional styles of game, but meant more to the site. Tetris Effect is probably their most typical pick of the last four years, yet still a very "Giant Bomb" winner.

Anyway, that's why Apex Legends or Tetris 99 may win GOTY.

I think Tetris 99 is a terrific game as well and has arguably been supported better than Apex which is a shock.

I think Jeff will utterly hate Death Stranding. That game looks like it will try to out-RDR2 RDR2 on the things some didn't like about that game, without necessarily having the things that those people loved. I think Dan will like it though, we'll see.

I just wonder if we will have another edition of Brad's open-world GOTY vs. Jeff's multiplayer GOTY for the fifth year running. Probably not given how Jeff feels about Control, but maybe he'll go back to Apex.

Doom Eternal is the potential dark horse. Death Stranding could be an absolute train wreck given how little we know about it.

For the rest of the list, I can see Alex sneaking Judgment into top 10 and I'm personally hoping that Ben, Dan, and Jan get Three Houses into top 5.

(And there are a few ridiculous moments in Three Houses that I want to see make Best Moments, but I don't know if they got far enough or played the correct routes to see them)
