He was technically not the man in charge for a little while anyway; when they switched from Waypoint to VICE Games he went from being Editor-in-Chief to just an Editor though he was certainly de facto leader. And I'm assuming he will continue being the main host of the podcast.

It did make me glad to see that he said they're looking to get more guests on the podcast in the future; the episode with Manveer Heir was the single best episode of the podcast so far and some of the other guest episodes are way up there too.

The writing was sadly on the wall for some time regarding Waypoint, it's disappointing but expected. It's essentially a three person crew now, and the brand barely exists anymore. I hope they can all eventually find cool new stuff.

I mainly just feel bad for Patrick. The only place he's worked at that didn't implode after a couple of years was Giant Bomb. It would be cool if he came back honestly, though I personally always preferred Austin's contributions.

Their ownership situation is bonkers now but quality-wise Kotaku is better than it has ever been. Gita, Tim, Jason, Cecilia, Heather, Maddy are all great at what they do, and a lot of regular contributors are too

I was thinking that maybe the controls would be less finnicky and the design would be a little more accessible than RDR2. But I guess not! Sounds like he has stopped playing it and has no desire to go back to it. It makes him like RDR2 more which is amazing.

But, uh, hopefully nobody gets in trouble for breaking embargo. I don't know what the line is and what you can get away with, but it kinda felt like they were skirting it on the Beastcast.

I mean there weren't any explicit opinions given, and the existence of The Outer Worlds being under embargo at the same time gives some nice plausible deniability. It's nothing on Jeff reading the NDA for MGSV and the first item on the list to not disclose being "the contents of this agreement... Oops". This is entirely inference from us obsessed fans, we could get to November 1st and it turns out they all think it's a masterpiece.

Also sounds like Abby played a lot and agrees with Dan, and Jeff got mad at her for her opinion without realising she was just agreeing with Dan. Anyway, I wonder if Brad will like it. It has been a while since we got a good Brad vs. The World at GOTY.
