This combined with the Hydro/Molten Men really makes me think that we're going to town on illusion. I also don't think that Multiverse shenanigans are that impactful when you have Spider-Verse going on already, but that might just be me.

noting the chameleon is in the movie sounds like the wrong thing to do... his entire purpose would be to go as unnoticed as possible. guessing which character he is because you know he was cast or something likely makes the movie worse.

basically, if they didn't want me to know ahead of time the chameleon is in this, it's a dick move to make sure to point out

I don't know. To me, it's either a fakeout, which seems like a totally fine thing to put in a trailer because unexpectedness can be fun sometimes, or it's real, which also seems fine because secret identities are barely even a thing in the MCU and they've clearly set up MJ to be very sharp and like she says, it's pretty obvious.

I had no idea Endgame was gonna go the way it did, with time travel and a war climax, but it did, and it still didn't follow conventions

after 10 years of continuously topping themselves, I doubt they've finished blowing their load

also this is the reason I'm not mad they put it in the trailer, it's such an obvious thing at this point. And there's obviously gonna be more to that scene, like how Peter deals with her saying she knows and what not.

Literally every character in the trailer could also be a Mysterio illusion so I wouldn't put much stock in scenes like that.

I have enough faith in Marvel to not spoil major moments in trailers at this point. Although I guess you could debate it's not a major moment so it doesn't get the same treatment.

And yeah, Spidey's secret identity isn't a huge deal in these movies like it's normally been in literally every other medium, so I wouldn't consider MJ figuring it out (if she's not just yanking his chain) as a huge spoiler.

To be fair I think there's only....3 important people in Peter's class? MJ, Ned, and Flash. So as long as you have those 3 that got dusted and thus stayed the same age as Peter, the rest is kind of whatever. Seems pretty fine.

I thought this would make sense to take place before Infinity War for sure - the lighthearted tone of a school trip to Europe, with all of the same kids, just doesn't seem like something that would happen relatively soon after Endgame.

The idea of a trickster trying to portray himself as a superhero (which is what Mysterio's plot looked to be shaping up as from the first trailer), made more sense pre Infinity War too. A guy like that showing up trying to look cool AFTER every hero in the world had the showdown with Thanos would seem a lot less impressive to the world. But the multiverse spin kinda turns this story into something else anyways.

I'm anticipating at least a slight timeskip of 6-12 months at the start, just because, realistically, how soon would the world have settled back into a state of normalcy that a school could arrange a trip to Europe?

Well it's more *Endgame Spoilers* everyone suddenly coming back that would cause problems. Like, the amount of logistical problems on every level with re-integrating that many people back into society is astronomical.
