Kiss x Sis becomes fucking lost when the author realized the teacher/MC relationship would be way too normal and would lose the absolute degenerates, thus making the story even worse instead. Scum's Wish I haven't read, but from what people say about it, it kinda pussyfoots around actually being degenerate, and not a lot of the characters feel like scum other than the fact that they keep claiming that they are. Domestic Kanojo is basically the typical tortured artist story. The main character pussyfoots around a bunch of potential relationships between his new step siblings each with their own issues that get resolved almost instantly after a single arc focusing on either, and eventually everything just kinda works out in the end. However, the MC didn't learn shit from the events that occur and is always a depressing, immature brat who keeps coming close to ruining all the shit that's placed on him on a silver platter. The story keeps attempting to portray him as this unfortunate soul who gains inspiration from the conflicts he finds himself in, but at the end of the day, his life is honestly not that bad and many times enviable. I think the author just couldn't figure out how to make the MC's life go awry without making it too depressing and as a result the MC comes across as a Kirito-esque level of Gary Stu where no conflicts ever truly end up feeling like conflicts. As a result, the MC's progression in the story outside his pseudo-raunchy relationships between the sisters come across as vapid and uninspired with shit just kinda working out off-screen, since we never really see the stories that the MC writes. All we hear is "wow MC, you've improved and now deserve all these awards and a promising future. Also here's a perfect girlfriend, and all the other girls you meet are totally into you!" It makes you think maybe the author constantly loses track of the story he intended to write. Only if he was as capable at writing as his own character was. All in all, a pretty terrible story, a dumb author, not even really watchable for the ero aspect of it since these scenes are incredibly few in between. Maybe if the main character was a bit of a pervert, it might've actually at least had some redeeming qualities, but there's just no clearly defined identity yet tries to sell itself as if it does.
