Well this is a good start for us so far. Hopefully stays this way.

Magic beating Raptors (but it's close)
Bucks obliterating the Nets by 20+ in the 1st
Celtics doing a similar number on the Heat by 19 in the 1st

That run by the Raptors to end the half is an absolute backbreaker for the Magic. That's a 19-2 run and just the way the Raptors were keeping/recovering some of those balls, you can't let good teams do that to you because you're already facing an uphill battle without gifting them possessions

Danny Green has shot ridiculously against us. 29 points and 7 3's. This is like what Ellington did to us last week all over again. Admittedly Green has been getting more open looks whereas Ellington was hitting them whilst heavily contestes. I think best we can hope for is that the Bucks and Celtics hold off Nets/Heat

When teams throw in the 3rd stringers to close out a blowout game, has it ever cost a team a game? Because the Magic brought it down from 20+ points to 8 points with over 2 minutes left. So theoretically could have done it or thrown starters back in. I'm guessing there's an unwritten rule that you just let the game play out though as neither team called timeout or rotated starters back in. Which I'm fine with, was just curious if it had ever altered a game result befoe

I swear I have seen a game where they had to put the starters back in and they were not pleased. It might have been college? Not sure

Yeah the night went basically as well as it could for us. We won and the Heat, Pistons and Nets all lost.

On Friday we play the Hawks. Heat play the Twolves. Pistons play the Thunder. Nets play the Bucks on Sunday.

I think realistically we need 2 wins from our remaining 3 because I can't see the Nets winning more than 1 (they have Bucks, Pacers, Heat left) or the Heat winning out (Twolves, Raptors, 76ers, Nets left) which is what they would need to do since we hold the tiebreaker.

Fivethirtyeight predicts the following

Pistons 42-40
Magic - 41-41
Nets - 40-42
Heat - 39-43

Personally, I rooting for the Nets and Magic to nab the last two spots. I'm assuming they have the longer playoff droughts.

Remember when division winners used to get a top 4 seed guaranteed? As it stands, the Magic would be hosting a playoff series against the Celtics

Also if the Pistons and Nets make it, it will be the first time an entire division misses the playoffs

There's 4 teams battling for 3 spots (technically 5 but the Hornets are basically done) so impossible for an entire division to miss out since Magic, Hornets, Heat all from the same division

Would have needed Cavs, Bulls or Knicks to have made a run for it to happen.

Some mad disrespect of Terrence Ross happening. ESPN panel made zero mention of Ross in 6th man of the year discussion which might be fine with a limited list but they listed 15 fucking players.

Ross has the most 3s in a season by a player coming off the bench. Ever. He is responsible for a shit ton of wins by the Magic this year. The Magic are 36-7 this year when Ross is in positive +/-

I was thinking we might break our franchise record for scoring as we did for score through 3 quarters but apparently our record is 155 from 1990 so must have had a monster 4th in that game.

We currently have 121 with 8 mins left

Finished 149-113 so 6 points short. We should have fouled them in the last few minutes to get the ball back quick to break the record but we just played it out like normal. Booo!

Whilst true, tanking teams can be dangerous once they are locked into their draft slot because players are then playing for deals next year a lot of the time and winning is no longer detrimental

One thing is for sure, I want us to wrap this up tonight. I do not want to play desperation Kemba Walker in a play in game on the road. On top of being stupid good and really clutch, Kemba has always been a Magic killer in his career. He always scores a truck ton against us
