Nah he's right. If you slam a movie like Star Wars it's a very good way to make sure you're never allowed back to another pre release screening. They're not being forced to give positive reviews, they're just risking their entire career if they don't.

Mark Hamill did hate that shit. Conspiracy crap are the people who deny his pretty clear indication that he didn't like the direction at all and was vocal about it.

And with George Lucas actually getting shut down by Disney for criticizing them, it's not farfetched.

While some do go overboard, the reactions to the film are mostly warranted. I will say it's worse than AOTC. While Lucas is somewhat incompetent as a filmmaker and made a bad movie, at least he wasn't doing it on purpose to be a little troll like Rian Johnson did. He really did ruin all the potential the new sequels had. I thought The Force Awakens was a fine start of a new trilogy and wanted to see where it went, and Johnson shit all over that. Why shouldn't fans be upset with that? He deserves a lot more hate than Lucas got way back when.

That makes no sense. If a movie is shit, and people have fonder memories and better time watching the prequels, then it means this shit sucked. Which is what you can't comprehend. The host of issues with TLJ make TPM and RotS seem pretty damn good. Just because TLJ had better acting and graphics doesn't mean shit if the story and direction are shit.

A part of me believes that Disney would completely fuck you over if you gave one of their films a horrible review.

Another part of me feels that most critics were either fanboys or thought that TLJ was "good enough" for a Star Wars film so they gave it overall positive reviews.
