Don't think it did? Frontier is a small developer so they didn't need to sell a ton of copies.

Even if it did "flop" financially, the game is fucking great. Really enjoy the DLC they've put out for it too. There's definitely issues with it and there are features from Planet Coaster that should prolly be added to JWE, but I've certainly gotten my money's worth at 200 hours clocked lol.

Frontier is one of the few truly good devs out there these days. They really care about the games they make and it shows.

The game definitely didn't flop financially. It didn't hit the mark critically due to being very shallow, but it did extremely well for the game's budget.

How is this better when Dino animations were a massive disappointment. They didn't even sleep on the release!

There was no day/night cycle on release so there was no need for sleep. Day and night were difficulty modifiers tied to particular maps...certain dinosaurs would act up more at night than they would during the day and vice versa (still works that way with the new cycle) and it would always be one or the other.

"Were" is the key word there. They took people's complaints and added all this stuff to the game, then some.

I think the big issue with the release is that people were expecting a pure park management game with dinosaurs, whereas the focus with JWE is breeding dinos, having them fight gladiator style, and cause general chaos. I mean, two of the core mechanics of the game (sabotage and storms) are designed to fuck up your park. People wanted Zoo Tycoon and they got Cities Skylines with pissed off lizards.

Not "were" but still are from were im at. The game sucks and they should stick to theme park games.

It can't even do that properly with the same tired animations over and over again. I had more fun causing chaos, breeding Dinos and fighting with JPOG. The only thing that was interesting was the sabotage but even that was watered down with that bullshit three groups to appease.
