The JoJo fanbase is a complicated one. While not actively hostile, it's so overpowering and omnipresent with such obscure memes that it's easy to see why people not interested would be absolutely done with it all.

I'm pretty sure if I read/watched 5 parts I have a pretty good idea the formula isn't going to suddenly change into something I find "amazing"

I only watched the first 5 episodes of 3D Kanojo, but it was good! Sure, it cost $30 make with an amateur hour voice cast, but I thought it held up amazingly well for what it was. I should get back to it.

Weiss Schwarz is not as desirable as it seems to be at first glance. I have two decks and would not recommend it. Of course, at the time it was about 3 times more expensive to play than any other TCG, dunno if that's still the case.

If you need some Weiss in your life just watch RWBY.

Finished Devilman: Crybaby.

I don't feel like making a particularly long post about this right now, but the short version is this. Overall I really liked the show. Characters, presentation, and focus on the thematic content of the story were all top-notch. However I think the back half of the show would have really benefited from getting an additional episode or two in order to better portray how exactly we got from the state at the beginning of the show to the tragic ending that we had. It feels like things started happening a bit too quickly once demons became public knowledge in episode 6 or whenever it was.

Incidentally, the anime still slows things down from the manga, IIRC. The manga skips a lot of stuff.

I just finished Hakumei and Mikochi, which I'd skipped when it aired earlier this year but came back to for my goal of completing one hundred anime from 2018. I'm glad I gave it a chance too because this was a nice show. The animation was nothing fancy and the characters were fairly basic, but it was always relaxing. I'm also a fan of all the little details that went into tiny people living in a comparatively massive forest, like how fixing a wall composed of a few small rocks was a huge construction project for them. H&M would have been completely outshone by Laid-Back Camp had I watched it when it aired, but it still had a fun, relaxing style of its own.

It just occurred to me that last year I voted MHA season 2 as the #2 spot in AotY, but this year season 3 is just simply not even in the running at all despite being significantly better in my opinion.
