I'm pretty sure I remember voltch gave us a date for when AotY proceedings would start, does anyone remember when that is? Now that I'm done HxH and Monogatari I should get started on watching the rest of the stuff from this year and knowing a start/end date would help me prioritize.

Buy ZLS's normal everyday sound effects opening is God tier.

Then they add extra sound effect for the last airing of the OP and they're all terrible.

I feel like they're terrible on purpose, though.

Initial D Season 2 bested. This show is so hype, soundtrack is so good. They finally played Deja Vu in the finale of Season 2. Now all I need is them to play Gas Gas Gas and I'll be happy.

Next up is a side story movie about the two racer girls.

Episode 11 of Iroduku was so good, god damn. I shouldn't have caught up on it when I did, I want it to be over now so that I can watch the rest right away.

I'm a sucker for bittersweet heartstring pulling, at least when it's done right. Like, there's a sweet spot between too sappy for me to care and too happy to make me sad. Iroduku is looking like it'll hit that perfect balance. That ending of the episode where they communicated through magic paper planes and lights, and then they met and Hitomi ran over to hug him without even hesitating, then that shot of the almost-new-moon in the background showing how little time they have left... wow. Anime moment of the year for me, I kept watching that sequence over and over. I hope the last two episodes don't drop the ball somehow.

Revue Starlight is indeed tremendously bad. and AICO is incredibly okay.

I didn't hate Revue Starlight. It's more just I couldn't find a reason to keep watching. I'm still thinking of finishing it but I have other priorities.

I assume the three are Hinamatsuri, Revue Starlight, and Iroduku.

Which is fine, everyone has different tastes! I hated a few of the favorites of others this year (FranXX, HaneBADo) and thought another big favorite was mostly meh (Devilman).

Though to be fair I actually overall liked Hinamatsuri. I wouldn't say it was great, but I'm also not entirely sure why I never got around to finishing it. It was certainly better than a fair number of shows I have finished.

Hinamatsuri...I'm in a similar camp. I thought most of the comedic scenes and physical comedy were great, but the emotional stuff was soooooooooo unnefective to me that I ended up putting it on hold.

Hinamatsuri was such a mess based on the few episodes I watched. Failed as a comedy and emotional series. I dont know why the author bothered with background on the whole psychic girl stuff if none of that background mattered either. It didnt in the episodes I saw anyways and it didnt sound like it did in the rest of the series either.?

Huh, I thought Hinamatsuri was one of my less controversial picks. I wonder where all the people who liked it are.
